Optimistic... Perhaps it will be around the same price of the KT-76 I guess

That's my guess. Quite a few features on this unit, likely $499 (hoping) although if the EQP-KT was $499 I'm not sure I would have bought it. I would have certainly waited longer for more reviews but at $299 almost a no-brainer. Hope that's how they go with 2A but I think it'll be more than that...

It would be a great bang for buck if quality is proved.

Perhaps it'd be worth to mention that:
- the EQP-KT here on GS is considered almost by everybody as a great piece of gear, a bargain for the price and a winner vs the Warm Audio EQP
- not the same popularity sees the KT-76, that actually seems to lose against the Warm

I'm very very curious!

EDIT: but if it comes out at 299, I know I won't resist and buy one (my two EQP-KT are shipping)

299 gets a buy from me on this one too. Fwiw, my 76-kt sounds pretty much like the only other real 1176 I've used (UA). Haven't used a real Urei or Warm or anything else...

I've never been so lucky to compare personally in my studio two 1176, worked sometimes with a UREI and a Purple, but since I absolutely hate the Waves plugin of the 1176 (love the CLA2A instead) I've never felt like I had to own a real one.. I know that sooner or later I'll get one too!

I wrote to them directly to ask- they will be available around June/July and the price will be roughly around £800.

At that price they're aiming to compete with higher end than than Warm and Golden Age... Up to now they've been carving out a new price point in clones.

Maybe the $299 price on the eqp-kt was just intended to be a loss leader to get people into the idea of buying new KT (Behringer) products?

Isn't an LA-2A more expensive to build than a Pultec or 1176 due to the parts used? (I thought so but am not sure)

I imagine that the buying power/control over the supply chain a company of this magnitude has would absolutely give reasonable edge over the manufacturing costs for smaller companies.

So, this unit looks like a 3 tube design.. the warm and GAP 2a’s have four... which I think is the same number as the original design... for what that’s worth lol
