This is unexpected. I believe this is the first time PSP has partnered with another company on an analog model. Interesting choice with the Avedis. I know that hardware has its devout followers for sure.

I'm terribly excited about this. I have an E27 and love it, and always wished I could get that in plugin form. Downloading now...

I just tried it on a mix, and the 28k button in the 2-bus is something like

Downloaded this baby, install went great. Load it up in Studio One V3.1 and works great. Went through quick preset and this EQ honestly sound amazing. Played with the knobs drive and all the features and this EQ got some really Mojo and is incredible on Vocals & sound fantastic. You can even use it in your Busses to go get a nice tranformer tone to the tracks or give a little character. The only thing honestly (i'm just posting this quickly as a first impression) and I must say that even though I haven't gotten to play more with and the first test run makes me smile but something really turned me OFF a bit as how CPU hungry this plugin is.

I don't know if the Beta Team did report this but on my Win 7 x64 this plugin is really hungry big time. I hope PSP gets to tweak this because it's totally unbelievable how CPU spike up as soon as you dial this baby up.

For example: I load E27 on a Back Vocals Bus in project that has some plugins running from (Flux, IK, LVC etc.. and my session also has some VI on and recorded vocals, back vocals etc..) and my project before adding E27, CPU runs at 30% ok!
When I added one instant of E27, CPU jumped to 70% (without even loading a preset). Than added a second E27 and jump to 80%

I find the CPU usage of this pluging hasn't been really one of the main concern and hasn't been well optimized. I'm saying this because as I Beta Tester (from heavy plugins like Acustica with their Acqua Series or Nebula) well some Acqua plugin eats up less CPU than this new great release from PSP.

Hope they tweak this for version 1.01 (hope this helps) and again this is under S1 V3.1 and Win 7

Tested AU64 in Reaper and the hit isn't that bad but it still taxes the CPU indeed.
The plugin is very very clean (as in no aliasing even at silly levels) so I suspect that's one of the reasons.

On my macbook pro. I am getting roughly about 10% increase on my cubase asio meter, which to me isn't that that bad..are the heavy cpu usage only on windows?

They didn't partner with Lexicon they just made an emulation of it.

I believe it's a Win CPU issue. I'll be waiting for next version. I mean I'm fine if a great plugin that has modeled based on the original with all the goodies (amp, transfo etc...) to give us that real deal but If I have to add 2 instance and i'm of the chart with my project CPU wise, for me something hasn't been well optimized or have been missed out regarding the CPU usage for Win that's for sure.

P.S by the my Win Desktop machine ain't an old one got i7 with 16gig gram and I do run some heavy project during mixing with VI included running while mixing (not frozen) and never hit 80%.

But I'm positive PSP will fix this for the next update

I'm on a 4,1 mac pro (4x2,66ghz), OSX 10.9.5 & PT12.3.1 and with one instance the cpu hit is between 26% to 34%!!! 5 instances took almost the 100% of CPU ... problem? --> it is only using one core of the cpu! Hope to get it fixed, because if using all the cores for sure we could load a thousand without problems.

I'm also having crashes when removing the plugin from the inserts.

Imagine amigo.. on my side in S1 I have "enable multiprocessing checked" and process precision at 64 bit (double) not 32 (single). So there's def something wrong ;-)

Yeah just tried on my PC which is I imagine almost 75% faster than my macbook pro.....one instance was maybe 4 times asio load hit compared to it on the mac.

not with my comp , but windows guyz , check the hit on the windows perf see if it taxes one thread or all , sounds like a multithreading issue in windows ...

PSP is one of the best Plug In Companies with very special products.

i own a fair number of PSP plugs. i was excited by this one, but am having a very bad time w/ the demo on PT 12.3 on Mavericks.

1. the plug has crashed PT twice, hard. i'm rebooting my machine again.

2. when i moved the plug to a different insert slot, it erased the settings.

3. when i opened it after re-opening a session, it again asked me to start the demo, and erased the settings. (maybe that's demo behavior?)

i don't feel like this one is quite ready for prime time, at least not for my config. i don't think i've seen such instability from a PSP plug before.
