Happy Tuesday, GS! As busy as the last few years have been (and for which I'm very grateful, all things considered in this industry), it's been a few years since I released anything of my own. Recently, I released a little compilation of soundtrack work I've done over the past few years, and I'm pretty pleased with how these turned out. These seven tracks are from work I did for two "visual novels" by a Canadian artist called, enigmatically, "Argonbolt," and I had a lot of fun with his prompts and direction.
(A visual novel is like a video game but you basically just click through it interactively as the story unfolds.)
Here's probably my favorite track from the bunch, "Aliens."
As some of you know, I've been doing a fair amount of work for pretty major pop and rock acts for the past few years, as an arranger as well as recording/live musician (keyboards and woodwinds). These soundtrack jobs allowed me to spend some quality time in my favorite musical spaces, though, which have a lot more to do with atmospheric jazz, fusion, art-rock, and atmospheric electronic music than pop.
At the moment, these only exist on Bandcamp and
in the visual novels themselves, but I'll probably release them to the various streamers in the future. In the meantime, give em a spin if you're curious!
