I'd like to know how they recreate the engine sound in Forza Horizon 4. I know they record the real engines, they probably use synthesis too, and they definitely use coding. But I'd like to see some precise step by step procedure of it. Anyone here has any knowledge about this? Thanks.
Oh, you’re right, making it live is a whole different… game !
Exactly. Generating the engine sound live is a whole different ball game and that's what I'm curious about. Do they implement a synth in the game for the engine sound? Probably.
Yes, I think they are awful, too samey and uninspiring. Okay there a lot of cars and covering them all would be a mammoth task but take the greatest racing sim of all time (Grand Prix Legends on PC) you can close your eyes and know what car is on screen from the engine sound alone. In Forza 4 (and 5) it's hard to tell a straight 4 from a V8 from a v12 - it's just not realistic.
