Does anyone have any idea how Nintendo wii’s menu sounds are made ?
Specifically I’m interested in the sound at 0.10 on this video:

It sounds so pure that I’m thinking maybe FM-synthesis? I’m having trouble getting that clearness on my analog and va synths..

Any ideas?

It sounds like a bubble-like sound - a sine wave quick attack with a low bass for the very beginning and for the rest, it could be FM synthesis judging from the high pitch vibe to it, though it sounds a bit too clean to be that. My best guess is that it probably comes from a rompler or a sample that has been pitched up.

As for me, the Nintendo has a wonderful system sound. Frankly speaking, I have met with the problem - I couldn't connect the audio to my TV, but thanks god, that I found the guide:
From the Wii U Menu, select "System Settings."
Using the Left Stick, scroll to the "TV" icon and press the A Button.
Tap "TV Audio-Output Type."
Select an audio-output type for the TV.
Tap "Sample" to preview the sound-output from your TV.
If "Surround" is selected and you have installed the latest system update, you will need to select "Audio Test" and "Yes, I can hear them" when you hear the sample.
If you do not hear the sample, select "No, I can't hear them" and read the on-screen information.
Tap "OK."
I can play my favorite retro games. I download the n64 roms, which can be played with their mainthems, which bring me back to childhood.
