Not sure if someone posted this earlier, but I kinda figured out what you get out of the "preamp" knob.
1. Flip the line/mic switch to either
2. Flip the 50 Hz/60 Hz to either setting
3. As you turn the "preamp" switch higher you get more of the "analog" thing.
Just sounds like a bunch of hiss, not the sweet analog thing I remember. Maybe that's what the original sounded like. Hey, I wasn't there. heh
To be fair, it did sound okay on a snare track, not so much on guitars. It's really overbearing when turned up. I was running 40 tracks of drums, pianos, guitars, groups, sends, oohs and aahs, and one channel of that hiss overpowered the entire mix.
