Hello all i need something settled for me please, from a M4 MAX chip owner who uses logic pro.
I am certain in terms of most things these chips are way overkill and will run like butter. However, i am very concerned about just specific thing: single core CPU Clock speed.
I know the m4 max is the fastest on geekbench currently, but i would like some assurance from a user that logic no longer CPU overloads before i pull the trigger on a Mac Studio M4 MAX.
My entire issue with my workflow has to do with single core performance, because my mixbus / masterbus chain is involved. I use LTL silver bullet mk2 (notoriously CPU hungry) followed by fabfilter saturn 2 followed by Gold clip and IK Multimedia Tapes.
These four plugins have served me very well, im not willing to get rid of them. But for years now i have had to work around enabling them AS i am mixing. I enable them at the end, quickly adjust the mix through horrible CPU overload errors, then i bounce. Often having to go back after bouncing to make adjustments while the mixbus is disabled.
SO. my mixbus is my issue. I need blazing fast SINGLE CORE clock speed because that is how single channels of audio are processed. My i9 2019 iMac is utterly unable to handle my mixbus.
Will the M4 max chip handle this? Thank you. Assume i don't oversample. If any owner of M4 max puts my mind at ease, i'll be in your debt.

I have an M4 Max MBP and Logic 11 and I don’t find the single core performance to be anything spectacular - it’s better than previous CPU’s but like my main studio PC it’s the single core performance that’s still the bottle neck for me.
