I don't know, but I'm pretty sure you could get Supermassive to do a decent impression of Blackhole. Then again, maybe not. It's a very dense and metallic sounding reverb to my ears (Blackhole). Supermassive can get in that ball park, but whether it could totally dial it in I wouldn't want to say.
It may be that Blackhole has some kind of sound that Supermassive just can't do. But that would be it. Blackhole is much more of a one trick pony and Supermassive is like a modular reverb system where you can plug in and out different DSP architectures. It covers Delay as well.
I've got so many reverbs that I just randomly choose whichever one and see if that works. I can tweak most of them to taste. I own all of the Valhalla plugins bar one. I demo'd Blackhole but I found it too 'edgy' for my tastes. That's not to say that it's not a great plugin and that many people make it sound great.
Is there anything you feel that Blackhole does better than Supermassive?
In my very limited experience, no.
But I'm sure that someone who has the plugin and really knows how to use it, might beg to differ.
