I actually already have the
Waves H-Reverb hybrid plugin which contains a few nonlin presets, but assuming the AMS plugin is "the real deal" I wanted to ask about it.
Opinions on how the Valhalla Vintage Verb and Reverberate 3/Townhouse AMS Impulse Response library compare to the H-Reverb for this sort of 80s sound?
Oh, upon further research I found out that the Universal Audio plugins I had heard about which don't rely on UAD hardware is the
UAD Spark plugin collection subscription service and only contain certain UAD plugins, and not the AMS RMX16.
So the bottom line (as far as I know) is that for the real thing you need UAD hardware for the plugin, the
AMS/Neve RMX16 500 series hardware reissue or a vintage original RMX16 rack unit. None of these are realistic options for me.
