If I wasn't on reason (a closed format) I'd LOVE to try the recently ported stuff for sims

I have DSM, shed spread (one of those xmas sales) mpressor, and the freebies. I've owned the older amp sim, and MAAG eq as well.

Mpressor is very unique, but using it in a conventional compressor role may not be for everyone. DSM, seemed to completely float my boat when I bought it, and I lost favor with it. Shedspead is fine for the 30ish bucks I spent on it.

Maag eq was nice, but I don't do vocals I have other eq's that I like more so I sold it. The older amp sim was quite nice, but it was only good for high-gain solos.

I had all the PA plugins until their most recent releases. I don't use amp sims much, but other than that use most of them frequently - as well as their UAD dopplegangers when I need extra CPU (shamefully, I have most, but not all of the UAD ones to. Actually - I need to overcome the shame - maybe I should organize a plugin slut walk parade)

I still have a lot to learn about many of them - especially the Paul Frindle one. And I need to get a computer that's not old enough to ride without a car seat - I tend to be CPU bound in every project.

The one I use the most is the free bx_cleansweep - it's normally on every track. Recently I have been over-using VSM3

My "go-to" plugs have been the FabFilter Saturn and the FabFilter Pro L. For eq on tracks I either use Reapers native eq, Fabfilter Pro Q2. For delay I like FabFilter Timeless 2.

I also use Waves Maserati GRP for the Master Bus, Waves J37 and Slates VCC 2.0.

So is there anything in Plugin Alliance that wold be a great addition to the ones I mentioned above?

Hell yeah I use Plugin Alliance. I use them side by side with my Waves, IK and other stuff.

I like the fact that its actually several developers under the one moniker that all make top notch quality stuff. It just makes it so much easier doing the update rounds when you can visit several manufacturers at the same time just hitting the Plugins Alliance website.

I Love Elysia, so clean and transparent when the want to be, but with an almost magical shimmer quality, but then mPressor can really bust out the vibe as well, a modern type of vibe. Which fits quite nicely around Waves classic emulations because they all have a completely different characteristic about them.

Even H-Comp has some features none of the Compressors from Plugin Alliance offers, such as the Punch control, Analog Control and an optional musically timed release control

The SPL Vitalizer is quite unique and isn't your typical enhancer, it uses the Fletcher-Munson understanding of who the ear responds to frequencies at different loudness levels then psychoacoustically enhances the sound following those principles. A completely different beast to Aphex Aural Exciter or Vitamin which also sound fantastic and have their own uses.

Often you can use these plugins all side by side, because the tend to compliment each other.

PA is awesome. Even their free stuff is fantastic! Brainworx/Dirk Ulrich are actually the ones that are responsible for coding SPL´s plugin line, and they did an impressive job imo. Although the very notion of "analog code" feels quite oxymoronic to me. But who cares as long as it sounds good, right? And it does.

Some of the UAD plugins are Brainworx. I only have the BX Meter but I would really like VSM.

Above all PA has great customer service. I had to ask them for a little favour and Jeremy helped out very quickly. I can say only good things about PA.

Dirk is the CEO. There are quite a few people who work at Brainworx. The Plugin Alliance is a way to license material from other manufacturers for plugin modelling using Brainworx techniques and software technology. Very smart cookies!

Dirk explained it to me when I went to see him a couple of years ago... its very much about modelling processes and components. Many digital algorithms are about building the process (indeed straight from the algorithmic math methods used to specify how analogue filter circuits should work). Dirk and his team have taken this in a complete cycle - they don't just implement the algorithmic design, they make a model of the analogue process...

Demo Vertigo Comp, Refinement, try the new free opto comp pedal. I love the SPL Rangers for a real clean sound. Got them on sale and never looked back!

Well, whatever it is that they are doing, they shouldn´t stop. And with those regular sales campaigns and great freebies there´s really no reason not to go for them.

I got the Mpressor plugin (free) with my Xfilter rack. This is a great plugin! I like it on vocals. The gain reduction limiter is cool to keep it from digging in too deep during choruses and the tilt is cool for warming up a shrill vocal or vice-versa.

I just got the opto BX opto ~ could not turn down $49 after hearing the free pedal and the sidechain filters are the coolest. Great sounding plugin. Really cool stuff.

I have the free Elysia tilt that is also great.

I am selling Alpha cheap. So, whoever is interested pm me. I would love to try VSM3 one day...that demo video impressed me.

I trying to be strong but at that price will have to demo.
I am waiting for vsm 3's turn as plugin of the month but its quite new so maybe a little while. That would be snagged in a heartbeat

Excellent company. IMO they make higher quality plugins than Waves or FF, although Waves has been quite impressive with their recent releases.
Vertigo VSC-2 is one of the best compressor plugins on the market. elysia/brainworx stuffs are great too, and I'm really digging the free bx_opto Pedal which is far more than usable. Their plugins are a bit pricey indeed but definitely worth it (and they do sales on occasion)

I have several PA plugins. Some are on the uad format. Demo some of their plugs and you will see they are just as good as the other big AND SMALL companies plugs. Demo the millennium eq and compressor or eylsia plugs or the bx stuff. The dyneq and bx digital eq are used on every mix. You get to use up to 3, I think, computers at the same time and can de authorize them so it can be used again. Great company with great products!!

You can also authorize a USB stick and move it along different systems like an elicenser or ilok. Just more flexible though. If the stick dies or gets lost, deauthorize it on the PA website. User friendliest system yet. The only thing I miss is a unified installer for all plugs like Waves and Softube have.

They have this now - but thankfully for me also do offer single per plugin installers

Click on a product on their site and scroll down to the downloads on the left are singles on right is the beefy all installer. It doesn't appear in my account section, only the single per plugins are there.

Deffo up there with the best.Elysia mpressor does something I cant find in any other comp.

Unified installer... Or just some update feature that lets you know when updates are out so you can opt to download them whenever they are released.

Plugin Alliance have BY FAR the best licencing system! It's the main reason I was drawn to try their plugs. And they are great! 3 licences for a plugin so I can run it on my MacPro and my laptop. This should be standard practice if you ask me.

I use Elysia mPressor for its very modern character, clean or driven into distortion, very tasty...
EQ rangers from SPL are great passive eq's and TwinTube is just awesome for fattening up dialog or vocals.
If you do post like me DeVerb is really handy for controlling roomy dialog.
As to pricing they run sweet deals, drop Easter eggs and Christmas are what Christmas should be with this company!
