It's exactly how that incident went. I made an 'honest mistake' and thought it was for a school, which I thought the SSL would be neat for...and...at the same time, it sounded like they wanted a live rig to do PA. So why not use a 1604 pro mackie and get the SSL. I was instantly accused of not adhering to the topic at hand, even tho I admitted to making a mistake...and accused of 'pushing my own wants on the OP'....which was totally bogus.
It was a confusing post, he asked for a recording interface with a power amp, which isn't really a common thing. I was thinking they could use the mackie for live PA, record their live PA stuff into the SSL...OR use the SSL alone.
Also, there just seems to be a lot of general sentiment around here against analog consoles which I disagree with. In fact, there seems to be a lot of people around here interested in analog consoles, being told not to bother, etc. I'm assuming they want to have fun and enjoy a console.
