Another question I have in mind is, will Emulator X3 work with Windows 7 64 bit?
I already answered your question. And to make sure it was easy to understand, I separated the Proteus standalone application from the plug-in.
I also told you that Emulator X3 would work with Windows 64-bit.
And not that you asked, but the 64-bit version of Windows XP was released the same day as the 32-bit version, in October, 2001. But it lacked some features and did not support 16-bit code. The first version of "Microsoft Windows XP Professional" was released in April, 2005. This version was still far from ideal.
The first version of the Proteus X2 manual was in 2006 (no month given),
so the 64-bit version of Windows was already out. And the Proteus X2 was also designed to run on Windows 2000 systems, which had 64-bit versions going back to February, 2000, with the RTM version released the previous centuryโin December, 1999.
So, no, you're incorrect: The manual was released
after the 64-bit version of Windows XP was released. But as I alluded to previously, Microsoft didn't have all the issues ironed out in this version, and if there are problems with the Proteus X2 app, that may be why.
There aren't a lot of people using the Emulator hardware or software any longer. You might want to be a little less condescending to those who are answering your questions.
And not that this wasn't a lot of fun, but you could have installed the Proteus X2
and Emulator X3 apps
and every library available for them by now, even though, as I said, the Emulator X3 app and plug-in will read all the Proteus libraries. They're the same software under the skin, with some features disabled in Proteus.
I hope that helps, but I honestly no longer care if it doesn't.
