Actually, I was hoping you might help me ... since I believe you were the poster of the archived X3.
But, I think you miss the point. I'm not asking for an update or any change to the software I purchased. If it no longer works because I no longer have an operating system or hardware that it was designed for, that's on me. But since I do have operating system and hardware that will run the product. I'm just asking that the company, Creative, who sold me the product allows me to authorized my license.
Unless the company itself is defunct why would they not be obligated? It is hardly analogous to your hope to reach into Microsoft's deep pockets.
So, to continue my request for help, I must say I was wrong. I did find a 'read me' file on the archive site. Here it is:
"1. Mount ISO/Install 64bit or 32bit
2. Once installed, restart computer
3. Run X3 when prompted, put in serial, then authorize on line or by phone.Do not create an account for register.
4. In order to run DSP FX in 64bit version use X3_64_FX_Fix Rar........unpack rar, then add registry file to the registry"
Please note it instructs in
#3 to authorize on line or by phone ... which presently cannot be done. So how does one authorize it? I note that the applet that requests you to enter your serial number has a choice for 'Use Another Computer" which provides a URL that doesn't exist.
