Also if the audio goes through the board, are you using much of the boards effects and how would say the summing is on the board. I know Jay Joyce (Nashville Tragedy Studios) has one but I think uses an Chandler external summing mixer out of protools.
I'm just curious about this board...

Yes, the sound actually goes through the board and gets summed in the console. I like what the board does to the sound: NOTHING heh it's very neutral, the converters, summing and the mic pres, no color to brag about. I can use the first 24 channels as a controller for Nuendo, fader, mute and solo, but I don't usually do that. I leave all the faders in Nuendo at 0dB and use the faders in the console for mix. The board does not have any effects built in, unless you are talking about EQ and dynamics. I use both for broad strokes, not for surgical stuff or color, I go outboard for that. I love the console automation and the total recall of all functions (exept the analog gain knobs) including the patchbay. It's not supported by Sony anymore and parts wil be harder and harder to find, but until they are little heaps of dust with faders sticking out, I'll use them.
