If anyone wants one, I just put mine classifieds due to approaching transatlantic relocation–def gonna pick up another asap. Wonderful box of many uses!
Seed, wish I could! We mostly work on major label stuff, so I'm not really at liberty to post such files. The next time I have something in house where legalities aren't an issue, I'll try to get something up.
I've mostly been doing vocals on the Berliner side, simply because I like having separate input and output controls. However, I just realized that I haven't even had the output transformer switched into the circuit...meaning, this pre might sound even better on vocals if I switch the output transformer in (or maybe not...you never know).
Anyway, I know I'm going to find a lot of uses for this one!
Is the Berliner side more open up top and the Creamer side more focused?
Are you more going Creamer side for the Neve tones?
Not sure if I should start a new thread for this or not, but I'm now in the market for a nice tube pre to compliment my BAE1073MPF (my only other high-end pre). I'm seriously considering the Sonic Farm Beamer, the Mercury m72 and m76 and the DW Fearn VT-1.
Other than the obvious cost benefit of buying Canadian right now (getting me 2 different pre's for just over the price of one) I'm wondering if anyone has had to opportunity to compare these amps themselves or can possibly offer some advice or guidance on how to best make such a decision.
