I totally agree.. however it doesn’t hurt to have a great console and routing options to help you along the process. The Daking simply gives you great sounding tools in a very efficient package that allows you to as Geoff says “go home early!”

I am sure it is a great console but for now the api is working great , no reason to move away from it ,adding some of the Harrison channel strips , in my opinion would be the better way go , selling my console now , would by nuts , considering what’s going on with the tariff’s

Hey man…
The API2448 is one hell of a console.. personally I think almost everything would be a “side grade “ perhaps other desks might be better in one way or another but overall that’s a heck of a console when fully loaded!

The 2448 is a brilliant console. I just wish I had more auxes and slightly bigger send knobs for performance. One thing you could consider is having David Andersen upgrade the opamps to get closer to the sound of vintage API.

It’s a little strange that API doesn’t give options for opamps on their consoles from the factory.

To buy a very expensive console and then doing aftermarket mods on it, and then does it affect the warranty?

The new API seems to be very much stuck on their flavor of opamps and not interested in anything else. Then there are all these little opamp companies selling to API owners

Are the opamps in the 2448 socketed? If so, just swap them out for any of the various options out there. I hear good things about the newish CAPI CA-0250 opamps. There are also Red Dots and the GAR options as well. Plenty of options to play with.

If they're not socketed, and you're determined to mod it anyway, mod it to have sockets, and then you can easily swap or replace whatever you want.

Just received 2 Harrison 32c. Mxstrips and 2 of there 500 series mic pres,putting them through the paces ,so far I like what am hearing.

No they both have jenson transformers, the mix strip has eq and i have been using those units for summing , they sound great

yes they are. very easy to change /replace.
