I've never tried the stuff from Analog Obsession (they're fairly new), but their modeling seems to be well regarded.
EDIT: and there's no sign up, no login creation, no multi-step BS... just simple download links. Very nice. (also 32-bit support for those that need it)

Another free pultec emu. Man I’m going to have like way more pultecs in my plugin folder than I ever imagined
This isn't intended as a ubiquitous software comparison - I won't be adding every option available. I believe the best ITB options are here, and I still plan to add SteDal's and the updated Purple 2 from AA. That will be it.
While Rare looks good AO has a track record of bugs and incomplete software releases. He tried to sell the company recently so it seems temperamental. To his credit he's making a big effort with updates ATM so good luck to him and we'll see where it leads.
Dual Tech and Rule Tec are all I need in the Pultec world. Purple 2 also promising, looking forward to testing that.
Worth noting that there are two things going on here: what plugin sounds most like the hardware and what sound do people like most, regardless of how it compares to the hardware. Of course, for those who haven't gotten the PM ID, there's no way of knowing which is the hardware. Interesting results.
Not a fan of 7, as it's so different. The rest are REAL close, with perhaps the exception of 4, which I find not as exciting as the others remaining. Out of the others, maybe 6 as to not confuse the statistics, it was among the top 3 that sounded so similar to me I couldn't choose between them. Pm please if you could
