I have owned 5. One of them had the LAMM update. I have two now, a mm and a mm+. I may send the mm to get LAMMed, but wish it could be done in the US, as when I was having my old one shipped back from Germany, it was lost. They found it, but it had been shipped to France, by accident.

3 MM+, 1 MM with the DBM MIDI upgrade, and 1 MM parts machine (anyone who needs any parts let me know)... You might want to wait on a LAMM, there may be a cheaper alternative later this year...

I'll wait, it's an 18 month wait for the LAMM. So I have time.

A MM original with Kenton MIDI is on it´s way from UK.
I heard the MM+ hasn´t the tightest MIDI ?
Also the LAMM is "too" stable missing the "vintage vibe".
Lots of components are replaced with the LAMM kit , it feels to me that the LAMM upgrade is more important for LIVE acts to get the MM more stable...but who brings a MM on tour... except JM Jarre ...
Sure you get more MIDI features but except that I am afraid the sound is slightly different on a LAMM than a MM/MM+.
It is like turning a OB-Xa to a OB-8...or something?

MM owner here.. still looking for decent midi kit … maybe kenton .. hmmm

The Kenton MIDI kit is not bad at all.
You can route your choice of MIDI messages , CC , Aftertouch , Velocity etc to different destinations , the best is to be able to route MIDI to Foot controller #1 and #2 as they are programmable to different destinations in the Memorymoog !!!!
However the MIDI velocity is "monophonic" meaning all voices will get higher filter cutoff when playing harder etc , and that is the same with the LAMM kit too btw.

For incoming MIDI:
Any MIDI channel can be selected
Notes (MIDI note numbers 36 - 96) - transpose possible
Program change (numbers 1 - 40)
Pitchbend - (bends up and down as set for Memorymoog's own bender)
Mod Wheel
Filter cutoff frequency (of low pass filter)
Foot Controller #1 input
Foot Controller #2 input
Volume
Sustain (decay on-off)

I've had a Memorymoog for a few months (it went away for a year for repairs).

I have Kenton midi, fully serviced, and all the internal connections have been replaced with quality gold connectors. Pratt Read keys added, PSU upgrade.

I moved house a month ago, and haven't had a chance to unpack my synths yet - once I do I'm looking forward to getting hands on with this poly killer!

If anyone needs extensive work on their memorymoog in the UK I got the guy for you!

question for MM owners:

does it have a unison mode? and how many voices does it have?

MM+ here. I absolutely love it. Had the fan updated so it's quiet now. Yes it has unison mode: 6 voices x 3 oscillators = monster! You can hear mine in a couple of pieces on my SoundCloud page.

Former MM+ owner. Sold it partly cause I needed the bread and partly cause of the "vintage gear fear" syndrome - that moment when you hit the power switch and say a silent prayer it will power on and all the voices are in tune. I've owned a bunch of old gear over the decades (SCI, OB, Moog, Yamaha, ....) and that fear never goes away. That said, there's nothing quite like turning out the lights in your studio and just sitting there with a smile (illegal or not ;-) on your face as you look over a bunch of old classics. Yum.

BTW, for MM owners, be sure to do this and enter the 'secret' code to get the front panel LEDs to strobe. You'll feel like JMJarre.

All I can say is I know someone who is working on a new MM upgrade. Hopefully it will be done later this year...

I don't know what you mean. The Memorymoog has been used on countless albums from the mid-80s on. It's so easy to hear its epicness everywhere.

Original MM with Kenton midi here - still getting to grips with it. Had extensive work done to it, so its very stable.

Similar place as you, though mine is a Plus. I'm getting mine back after much work, and it will (I hope) be solid now. You gotta pay to play!
