hmm, looks pretty cool! not sure what to make out of this.

i have seen though that korg is rumored to have something up their sleeves, so this might not be that far off. they might tout this as being great for sequencing ms-20 and monotribe, which explains the recent update to monotribes.

also explains why king korg has a cv out

If Korg isn't making them, they should. Aesthetically, they look awesome. They have an almost Stylophone thing going for the keys.

@ Stevism: hmm yah.. sounds plausible. It's kinda fun speculating what each of the boxes do.. looks like there's a drum box (black) and the 2 others could be synths of some kind

I don't know if they're real but i would buy all three of them. I like all of this new cheap analog gear coming out. I think there's a huge market for stuff like this as vintage prices go higher and higher. As long as korg can keep putting out new toys in the under $200 range

I'd be tempted too.. lol

Then again.. there's all the other fun analog gear coming out too.. what to do what to do!

I believe it's fake, just to not have to feel the disappointment if it is fake.

Although I like a good speculation:

- Trigger in and out to sync, as well as MIDI IN
- The first one must be drums because it has just steplights, maybe the analog drum section of the MonoTribe expanded
- The second one seems like a mini sampler
- The third one has a expanded ribbon keyboard, so probably that will be an analog synth

However the all LED knobs with the weird grouping on the third one makes me believe it's a fake. Also the connections on the top is a bit weird.

Interesting.. The second one seemed more like a bass synth, in the vein of a 303 to me.. with a big ole filter knob to the left. And it's silver to boot! Maybe it's Korg's way to diss Roland.. That's what you get for being late (or rather not present at all) to the game, Roland :P.. If all this is real, that is.

Looks like a monosynth, bassline synth and drum machine (front to back).

That's what I was thinking/hoping. Seeing as how a tb303 sells for upwards of three grand on eBay I think companies would be stupid not to start copying those old designs.

Well it has the Electribe A style of buttons so you could be right. Perversely, they are in reversed colour. Another thing that makes me doubt that it is a real one.

From the size of the knobs, I estimate they are not much bigger than a Monotron. ... but please, surely not ZX81 style keyboard/triggers

They look real, but copping the 303 aesthetic so closely seems off, not very Korg like.

The one in front actually looks like it might be a step sequencer of some sort. Notice the twelve knobs which are similar to amount of steps that the SQ-10 had, plus it has keys for possibly inputting notes. 27 notes though?

Black one in back appears to be drum machine, possibly a throwback to the KPR-77 and TR-808. This one makes sense as a drum machine since there's 16-step button keys and they are all the same color.

Middle one is obviously a TB-303 knock off and one giant middle finger to Roland, haha.

I'm digging the possibilities here.

even if these are real and turn out to be cool I have no doubt that Rich Formidoni will find some way to bring the cheese to new heights in the demos thus ruining any interest i would have had otherwise

Good observation.. but knowing Korgs' recent penchant for cute little battery operated boxes, that's probably the answer. The connectors to the top left may be sockets for an optional power supply perhaps?

.......or maybe those leads are daisy chaining power from the back unit? possibly a duel purpose power/sync lead?

If my guess about the one in front being a sequencer is correct, then this would make sense. The way in which they are chained together, the first jack would be Sync In, the second is Sync Out. Not sure what the third would be. Maybe the "Awesome" jack, which is neither In nor Out... it's infinite!

Background at the very least is ofc fake, lighting is unreal, but its not looking all that different from the advertising on the King Korg.

If these are real, I hope one of them is a more elaborate drum machine based on the monotribe sounds (which were a bit pokey but had some oomph with some eq), and an on-board sequencer. There is a distinct paucity of drum machines at the moment! Oh, and multiple outs please, Korg! (Or at least make this a moddable thing.)

"Rendering" doesn't necessarily mean these things are fantasy products.

Actually it's the same pattern all over again.. Some relatively low res picture of an alleged new Korg product pops up, and people start speculating about what it might be. Then a few days later Korg announces the new product and people are eager to find out what it is. It's called creating a hype. Seems to be working well for Korg

yeah it wouldn't surprise me at all, planned "leaks" and "rumors" are rampant nowadays, it's a form of viral marketing.

what does make it even more plausible is the fact that the last update to the electribe family was relatively tame, to the fact where many people criticized the lack of innovation that it brought

i think we're looking at an addition to the "electribe" family...a weird lovechild between the monotribe and the electribe

Going again with my theory about the one in front being a sequencer, it would only need a CV Pitch Out jack since it doesn't generate sound on it's own.

The middle one, assuming it's a TB-303 style bass synth, would only really need CV Pitch In for manual playing. Having CV Pitch Out would be a bit redundant since the one in front would be the dedicated sequencer for the whole set.

Lastly, the one in back being a drum machine, it makes the most sense to have this be CV Pitch out for triggering synths similar to how TR-606 has the two Trigger Out jacks in addition to the Din Sync jack.

Also add the fact that they all have a MIDI port right in front which could possibly function as either In or Out.

Crap, I can't stop thinking about these and I don't even have my Mini yet!

Have to say, the drum machine interests me most, but I wonder if it is like the ER-1. I can see 4 sections with knobs above them, probably for adjustment (a la 909), so maybe only 4 analogue sounds and perhaps pcm cymbals?

Analogue Bass drum / Snare / Open HH / Closed HH, and then pcm clap and cymbals? I doubt Toms would be included.
