But I myself also love the "thinner" sound of the originals

i didnt mean compared to todays drums, but compared to old machines the way i know them. anyways, it does sound better in the future music video.
anyways, i don't understand all the babble about sounding fresh. this is a clear nod to KP but more than anything to TR series especially, and they sound very much like those. nothing new as far as sound. but much needed never the less.
as many others i actually need something like this.. instead of old roland. and packed with some modern features. but would prefer a more professional machine, not a toy with headphone out. also, even a 30yr old 606 has more patterns and songs than this thing. memory capacity is kinda a let down too.
i definitely do not dig the volca keys sound. thinny stylophone.
one thing i noticed: someone here mentioned that Volca Bass also uses the 700 filter (i.e. diode ring)...but strangely enough they mention the 700 filter on the korgs Volca Keys page, but there is absolutely no mention of it on the Volca Bass Korg's page. could it be they went diode ladder, and need to keep it hush bcs of Roland..?
all they say is, i quote:
"Newly designed analog filter for crisp, bright response"
so its not a 700.. otherwise they would clearly say so..
