Flatblaster: do people think that its audio quality compares favourably with more expensive mastering plugins from Waves etc... ? Haven't used Flatblaster much and am interested.

Dotcom44 is pretty damn nice.

if getting into building your own synths, etc is a bit daunting for anyone, please check out the 'Ampere' modules made by Chet Singer. he really made an effort in making these modules easy to wire up (based on how the Nord G2 works) and did a great job of it. i think his uploads to the UL weren't very successful due to folder limitations, so he's posted them on the Electro-Music Forums here:

unzip the files and place them into your 'Macros' folder.

Most things in Reaktor sound too plastic for my taste but there are a few patches in Junatik I have learned to get pretty beefy in the right mix.

Classical but really useful

Pretty much everything by Sigmar Kreie

Especially weedbacker, FFmer, lookuplab, clusterbasher.
Also WeedwackerR5 v1.0 that is an update to Kreie's weedwacker/backer that is one of the most beautiful/bizarre sounding synths there is.

If you build, the filter in Stephan V Viral Extinction is a must because he shows how to do some crazy stuff with control shapers on rez.

I also think its worth downloading everything by Dieter Zobel in the library...sometimes very hit or miss but always quite weird and different.

Acoustring is also a must, such a beautiful physically modelled string/weirdo guitar.

miGraine / Marlene v2.0 by gabriel mulzer is also a very strange and beautiful kind of string synth but built only using formant filters.

For emulations, there should be a folder on the R5 disk from 2.3 of minimoog, sem, juno(original version of junatik)sh101..The emulations sounded better with 3.0 though because the oscilators were much more "raw" than now.

Spark is good, but to me if its worth buying it at all its for its distortion which is just fantastic and can be easily put into other synths.

yes. i forget the names though.

if you go to the user library and just look around in the sequencer section you'll find something. there's a bunch of cool stuff in there.

i've started using some of them in audiomulch to sequence VSTi's. fun stuff.

I made a sweet emulation of GRM's exponential delay like 6 years ago. It's the only reak ens that stays in my arsenal. There's probably lots of excellent stuff out there, just haven't been exploring.

I feel I never have to get another soft-synth with Reaktor

If now I could just log into the Native user forums... for some reason it doesnt like my login info, and trying to reset it doesnt work. I wonder why we have to use 2 separate logins for the Native site and the userforums... and why it always takes atleast a week or two between each answer from a NI representative....

The Reaktor user library has excellent synthesizers for specific sounds or tasks.

1. icepad- very cold chilling digital FM and within those parameters it has a lot of flexibility.

2. Solina V- excellent emulation. I find no reason to find a closer emulation.

3. Michats Shiny Synth- very unique combination common synth sounds/filters with an arpegiator. One of the sounds is close to the effects in Steve Millers "Fly Like An Eagle."

4. Weedwacker-some very unique sounds.

im messing around with that one right now.. im having a blast! are there any other awesome modular synths like this one for reaktor??
