It looks cool, and could be interesting, but after my experience with the LXR-02, I find it difficult to get excited about anything from Erica. Still hoping on a stable firmware on my drum synth, but it's been 2 years since 1.6, and Erica has since moved on to other things. Hopefully they don't abandon this one with a buggy OS that drops sounds and changes routings at random.

Never had that issue w/my LXR-02 (I sold it awhile back due to disuse), and my Acidbox III has been going strong for quite a few years now.

Don't want to get too OT here but I believe the issue with the LXR-02 firmware is that the original LXR creator remains the real brains of this machine.
As for the Steampipe, I'd love to hear it pushed much harder. Seems to have the potential for massively dark and dirty sounds. Can't get excited about bells and flutes.

Exactly, this looks like Prophet 12 / Evolver tuned feedback taken to completely different levels!
It's in collab with the same developer (112 db , martijn Zwartjes ) who did a lot of reaktor ensembles , steampipe being one of them
The reaktor ensemble is essentially a karplus strong ( tuned delay line )
I wonder how much they will overlap
This kind of sound really feels so European. I personally donβt need a synth that only produces these kinds of darkish sounds, and I still prefer Yamaha, but it seems like it would be great for people making dark music.
I preordered. Or at least put my name on the order list. The hands on programming is very unique for physical modeling. It sounds very interesting.
Ordered one too - did you order direct or from a US distributor?
in the past I got most of my Erica gear direct , but the last few were such a pain I learned my lesson. The risk of immigration issues is just too high. I am going with Sweetwater this time.

I ordered from Sweetwater because no money is paid until they ship.
Seems interesting, but hard for me to get excited when 1/4 of the panel is dedicated to digital effects. Are there really no other sound shaping knobs there that would be more useful?
OK I joined the club. Really wanted a physical modeling hardware poly to experiment with, and the price on this is reasonable given the usual build quality of Erica's hardware. Got it for 1322 CAD + tax from moog audio, which is the best price I've seen for it. They won't get it till end of January so will be a late Christmas present to myself .
I'm having fun with mine, but it is very unpredictable. I posted this in the new gear thread but I had dialed up a nice sound then when adjusting the generator gain, the nice pitched sound collapsed into a "rasberry"*, and the entire range sounded like that rasberry, until I adjusted the gain very slowly to find that 1/2 a degree of arc that turned it into a pitched sound.
* rasberry is the sound you make when playing a trumpet without the trumpet.
