Reviving this thread because I just discovered how amazing and deep Reaktor is. Yes, you can still get Junatik. Anybody care to chime in with current favorite ensembles?

Steampipe is cool and I'm pretty floored by what Prism does.

I still use Weedwacker quite a bit. Ice pad is wonderful for cold FM chill. The Solena emulation is wonderful and goes far beyond the real Solena.

Of course, and to be expected, the NI built synths are fantastic.

Like Yoozer, the Steampipe is a favorite, along with the physical modeling guitar.

For me, Reaktor will never get old.

Reaktor gives its best on these above.

New lovely stuff in the last couple of month (there is more, but these are just my favourites):

- ZooTooK´s Juice 3: He was asked by a well known manufacturer of analog synths to change the name (previous one contained "mini")..... this should tell you something. Very nice. Real alternative to Monark (with a slightly different approach).

- West: A very musical and flexible "west coast" synth. Fixed architecture, but VERY reminiscent of a certain classic west coast modular manufacturer.

- Once again: the Modular-X framework by Herwig Krass is fantastic. It got me building again... (e.g. Ruhr, just search the library for modular-x)

- PongX alternative modular synth, very interesting UI.

But I'm still using a very old ensemble, Icepad. It seem to be perfect for me when I need that specific sound. Like the GUI...it looks cold, and like the sound.

As a matter of fact, it seems Reaktor in general over the past few years has morphed for me in that same way. Very specific synth sounds for very specific occasions.

HA! Reaktor shows its strength with useful longevity. And thankfully no funny business with update pricing, compatibility, etc through the years AND the user library with never ending new things. I am looking forward to the Apple M1 version coming soon, too.

My workhorse ensemble faves are:

Also shows its weakness IE not reporting latency to the host, NI have serious issues with reporting latency and/or PDC support, they need to get it supported.
