No behringer unit has ever failed me. In fact, the mdx2600(compressor) that I bought in 2003 has been in ordeals worse than my mackie vlz pro (dropped, stored in extreme humidity, heat, cold)and works flawlessly. Only a couple of led buttons don't light up when pressed but it was fixed.
Same goes for synths(model D, pro 1, td3). I forgot by mistake my TD3 on and playing the same sequence for almost a week(I was away) a year ago and everything works like a charm. All of my gear is on a permanent 'on' or 'ready to jam/record' state so they all see loads of action every week.
I don't know how their more 'digital' stuff performs, but so far I see the X32 almost everywhere.
I must say that many 'historic' brands have caused me a lot more headache than behringer ever did. My Avalon M5 pre arrived without the metal logo on the faceplate(a 3k unit back then), and I am sure you can see very quickly here on the website how 'good' of a tech support they have. My AMS Neve 1073N arrived with a bad power supply sending sparks all over. My Aphex 204 from the beginning had stuck buttons. My Novation K station LCD screen backlight died after not that much use. If my Arturia Keystep is not used for a week, 4-5 keys stop working and I have to open it up and clean it with isopropyl alcohol. More than I used to clean my Otari MX5050 deck! And the list goes on, PTHD hardware, AKAI, etc Thank god I never had an unsolvable solution or doorstop situation, but I must say that in cases like these it is true what they say that capitalism has solved these problems. Bigger company-more advanced production line-better QC/QA-better consistency in the final product.
I'm sorry to say that but it seems to me that behringer haters fall in to one of mostly two categories
-Older people with midlife crisis that usually have more disposable income available for premium brands that want to prove something to themselves/or that their branded unit is magically better/ or to show that they have some sort of 'high moral values'(at the same time that they use smartphones/clothes/computers etc that are made in sweatshops and possibly in worse conditions than behringer)
-Younger people that do so in order to look good to the above category(peer pressure) or because they also want to 'show they care'(who are even worse than the above category since they are the first ones to upgrade their macbook/iphone/galaxy of barely a year old to the next best thing, and generally succumb to consumer culture)
When apple decided to glue the batteries and RAM on the 2012 macbook pro,
do you remember the EPEAT greenwashing story?
Many(obviously not all) of the 'B' haters have some sort of apple products on the background lurking.
What about
Roland and Korg and price fixing?
What about
Yamaha and Fender?
