Many of you asked for the MS-1.
Here it is, but as improved MKII. This revised version is based on the original 662 chips for a vastly improved VCF and VCA performance. And then we also added the dual glide function.
We’re very excited about the new MS-1 MKII as it’s as close as it gets to the original.

If this is real, I hope there's a module version this time. I imagine many people don't have space for a giant toy keybed.
I already liked the MK1 but had to let it go as its footprint couldn't be justified. Currently using an SH-01A instead... Sounds fine but I dislike the interface. I'd go for an MK2 in a Boog case.

That explains why people have been complaining about lack of LOL-SW stock recently..

I agree with the above poster about the footprint being too big for what it is having owned a behringer ms-1. I'm glad behringer is pushing the authenticity but as for a product I would personally be excited about I would want it to be more modern like what a combination of an arturia minibrute and a Roland mc202 would be.

Now that I'm thinking of it if they are gonna make big desktop synths that go beyond the eurorack form factor -

Analog pitch and trigger sequencer ala the moog dfam or behringer's own 960 eurorack sequencer.
At least two oscillators
Two adsr envelopes
Mod matrix like the neutron
Distortion mods from behringer td-3 mo
Footprint compact for jamming alongside rd8/rd9
All black case

A bit like a behringer neutron - mc202 - arturia minibrute 2s combo focusing on hands on live acid tweaking with big sliders and a super accessible jammable sequencer.

and I'm glad that GAS didn't push me to buy a used (overpriced) mk1.

tbh I also have no space for the keyboard version but... oh well, I'll find some, even if I have to bend the laws of physics.

The original didn't have that and nobody who really wants a SH101 clone expects a SH101 clone with patch storing.

You want something else, there is the Roland boutique for you if you want that.

The people who really want a SH101 clone want "authenticity" when it comes to sound, nothing more.

I want them to do more stuff in the transparent colors. My transparent purple RD-6 showed up yesterday, and it's freaking gorgeous. Makes me want to go through the tedium of scaring up a replacement for my boring red TD-3. I'm like others here that I don't have the space for an MS-1, but I'd totally make some. That sound and the sequencer are just too iconic not to put in a retro setup.

i never saw expensive ms-1's , i read reports of them on here, but where i look in the uk theyve typically been £200 ish. though i think shipping would be another £20 or more... i havent checked.

shame they seem to have kept that awful sequencer.
i'll definitely wait for comparison videos for this..

I’m also wondering, what’s dual glide? To me, that sounds like separate glide per oscilllator, but the 101 only has one.

I want transparent bright colors too. I have lovely transparent orange td-3 modded as hell and I want ms-1 like this, and may be mod it as hell too.

I also didn't liked sound of MS-1 MK1 but I always wanted to have one for the early goa arp and early idm/boc sounds.

It's actually ALWAYS ON glide. So I think MK1 has only off-auto settings but O.G. has off-auto-on.

But it has distinctive sound tho different from 303 paradigm.

its quite a key characteristic of many 101 tracks..
and something they got wrong... its a big deal (not in the scheme of things but for this synth its important)

That and it didn't have the zip that the original had. Could be quite tempted by this new one but there's a lot of stuff coming along, can't buy it all.

1000???... if you watch only reverb you will be robbed...

the ms1 isn't a proper clone, there are also some adds, for you the adds are ok but the patch storage no to "preserve the authenticity"
plus it's not 1:1, it is a good recreation but not near the original, the feel is very different
I had it, I didn't gel and takes so much space for this kind of basic mono, as many others B you'll ending buy them mainly because of their price

For what I do I need the patch storage, I still have the boog, the neutron but I skipped the pro1 for 180, wasp 160 etc etc... I said stop.

If MK2 is even closer to the original 101 it will be great but for me, MK1 is already doing perfectly fine the only thing I care about: goa trance

I'm glad that I'm not obsessed with the need to have a perfect clone, which will never exist because someone somewhere will hear differences anyway (even if there are none).

But it needs to have the idiot proof sequencer/arp. Without that the SH-101 is not that special at all.

Same sequencer as before? Shame they didn’t take the time to improve that. If that Model-15 Grandmother knockoff they teased last year had any working parts inside, then it seems like they have an intuitive 256 step entry sequencer with rest, tie, ratchet and velocity. That sequencer is more similar to the original 101 sequencer, too bad it wasn’t re-used here!

yeah the 101 sounds great, we know that. but the fun is in the sequencer

The perfect clone - likely to be the re-101 … maybe not the case but everything else is likely to be the same.
They just posted a video tonight - sneak peak for that German synth show in the summer.

I just got the AMSynths SH-101 Eurorack module set. I'd say it's the most accurate clone I've ever heard.
