Actually I have Korg covered, as the very first synth I made a meow patch on was a Polysix, and I also made one on a Microkorg when I had one (and used on a Halloween CD I made).

I don’t recall if I ever made my D-50 meow when I had it, but I have done meows on the SH-4d, so I guess I have Roland covered as well.

I’ll have to see how well the TEO-5 meows. The OB-6 has a mad sounding cat preset already on board (preset #666 as I recall, seems a bit ominous. Haha).

The cat meowed at least to the presets: Fantasia, Digital Native Dance, and Living Calliope...and the rest instead of 'meow', 'meh'...

What, no meows to Staccato Heaven?? Maybe that one made him purr...

I miss this unconditional happiness, what you see is what you get, no small print, a true joy ... I used to rest on the bed and Meo would just come to play with paper balls I made for him, he would hit them around the room and brought them back to me because he loved to catch them when I'll threw them around. No need for expensive toys, just crumpled pieces of paper. You could really forget everything just watching him jumping all over the place. He took away all this with him.

I would have thought the classic 'Soundtrack' pre-set on the D-50 was a sort of Cat meow sound (in an underwater 'Jacques Cousteau documentary' kind of way).

Best meow I ever pulled off was on my old EDP Wasp.

It's all in the filter. D-50's filter was unique but resonance wasn't its strong suit. I'm not familiar with the Wasp but it sounds like something that could do it well. DX21... yeah, 4 op cheap DX7 wannabe with no filter ain't gonna meow for beans.

Narrowish pulse wave and some resonance on a 24db filter seems to get the best meows in my experience. SSM2044 (and SSI2040 in the Take 5) do well. Moog filters too. I haven't tried on a SEM filter yet, maybe soon.

Ever since I got a real cat I haven't been as motivated to creating meow patches. The real thing is better.

Difficult to tell, but my theory is, each key plays a sample of the rustling/opening of a different flavour Dreamies packet.,
in so, causing a different vocal reaction depending on each cats personal ideals or even moods.

Not yet. She’s not known for performing on demand. I’ve tried a couple times.

I had samples of Chica on my Motif many years back.

Probably something PETA wouldn’t approve of. Nor me.

Makes sense since Bella does appear to be a reincarnated supermodel complete with long legs and a beauty mark. Maybe she's Meowilyn Meownroe.

Hermeto Pascoal, the genius mad scientist Brazilian musician (who made major contributions to Miles' Live/Evil album) has been known to play a pig.

Here both he and Airto play pigs.


Apparently, Hermeto was very caring and kind to the pigs he used. I don't think you can play cats that way, unless you're itching for some major cuts and scratches.

I wonder if this was the inspiration for Arturia's 'Pigments'?

Since I was in video making mode today I had my Zoom H6 out but I still haven't been able to get Bella to meow into it while recording.

But, I got this pic of her checking out the box my new Dubreq Stylophone CPM DS-2 drone synth was shipped in.

Long story short, yes it can. But the Take 5 does meows better.
