Boy, theyβre really getting a lot of mileage out of that physical enclosure and barely functional 3-octave keyboard. Love the integrated KAOSS pad though.
So the filters are all digital I assume? What made the DW/EX-8000 great (i have both) was the NJM2069 filter. I would take the so so minilogue xd analog filter over all those recreations. How is this conceptually different than the Wavestate? Just listened to the demos and this sounds nothing like the DW.
And a 5 octave multi synthesis keyboard containing Opsix, Wavestate, Modwave engines.
That's all but certain to be released in the future. Hopefully it will satiate those looking for a full size keyboard. It gives them time to also refine the implementation of each engine before putting out a more premium synth.
Korg seem to be learning as they go with each digital synth release. I appreciate them trying out new stuff to see what sticks. I'm not really in the market to buy (It's been a rough year for everyone), but I look forward to reading the manual.

Even with that 3 octave keyboard this type has a better interface than Yamaha DX, Korg Wavestation and DW it emulates and expands.
Problem is that Korg DW had analog filters - and this one doesn't.
Interesting, it seems there are many "small" improvements - "HELP" button, "Setlist", secondary functions spelled out in blue (also over the function buttons); probably others I can't tell by just looking at the panel. I'm so happy they finally started paying attention to UI. Compare this to MicrokorgXL with it's stupid 3-knob interface.
Ouch, I think I like this synth. I keep reading βNord Waveβ, but with all the included samples together with wavetables and all the motion and and... it`s so much more. Possibly. Need more info, hey, where are all our youtubers when we need them?

Like yeah it's so much more. 4 envelopes and 5 LFOs for starters

Korg putting out synths with garbage keybeds in 2021 still? There's a surprise...
I love a lot of what they do but my goodness they skimp in some of the most annoying places.
Apparently there are no plans for desktop versions of these newer synths, and that kills my interest with my limited space.
It'd be interesting to see an A:B comparison between this and the Wavestate, as there seems to be a lot of overlap (same form factor, effects, filters, both manipulating sets of waves in similar but not identical ways). Does suggest a future SuperWave that's a hybrid of both.
I really...must...resist, no space, own wavestate already, love it but although keybed is certainly playable, Iβm very spoiled with the nice keyboards on my Blofeld, Mono Evolver Keyboard, Digitone Keys, and for that matter, even the mini keys on the keystep pro are exceedingly better than these repurposed, remelted plastic, picnic dinnerware of keybed with no AT.
My resolution is only modules at this point; Iβm interested Korg, but Iβm saving for a 2021 Waldorf Iridium
Why the 37-keys!? C'mon Korg! Release some 61-key versions.
Any poly with more than 4 voices should have a 61 key option.
Not only would the 61-key version increase the price, but having it as an "option" (i.e. keeping the 37-key version) would increase production costs (and thus the prices as well). With the decline of hardware market this would be untenable. I don't want to sound like a have a Stockholm Syndrome, but we should be grateful that they still release synths like this. Look at Yamaha, they pretty much gave up. Refaces are ridiculous compared to Modwave/Wavestate/OpSix.
And as most people have 61/76/88-key keyboards anyway, that 37-key keyboard is - dare I say - for decorative purposes mostly ;> Although it's quite useful for exploring and playing around.
