I checked that parameter and it was turned ON. I turned it off and listened to it again and it did remove of that "static shotgun" effect.
I'll make a new video for this and add some additional info to the existing one.
That is a very useful bit of info for sure. Thank you for the heads up!

Glad we were able to sort that out. You might mention on the YouTube video that this is responsible for the "sample playback" effect.
Be aware that the OSC SYNC parameter is per operator, not global. Make sure it's turned off on all 6 operators.
If this patch was loaded from sysex this parameter should have defaulted to off so maybe a bug?
EDIT:
From the DX-7 manual:
Quote:
SYNC (Synchronize):
When the SYNC function is ON, all oscillator begin operation from the same phase angle (0 degrees). With SYNC OFF the phase angle at which an operator begins oscillation is carried over smoothly from the preceding note. In the polyphonic mode, for example, maximum simultaneous output is 16 notes. If a 17th key is pressed the first note makes a smooth transition to the 17th note.
I have a few questions:
Does the DX-7 itself have the SYNC parameter set to OFF on this patch?
Do the other DX emulations have this parameter?
