Synthesizers with stereo signal path

Hi!

I really like synths with true stereo signal paths, like the DSI Poly Evolver. It can literally add another dimension to sound design. I know the Waldorf Blofeld/Largo and U-He Zebra 2 can do it. Which other synths have a good stereo architecture?

OK, if you mentioned software, then i can say you can make them all true stereo in your DAW.
Just make for example 8 tracks, spawn 1 instance of the soft synth on each and set them to 1 note poly, then use a MIDI polyphony plugin to split your MIDI input to 8 channels and freely pan the tracks in the stereo field.

Thank you for the suggestion! Good idea! I'm looking for synths with stereo tricks implemented in the synth architecture per se though...

OBXD has pan knobs for all 8 voices, i am not sure if you can automate them.

Yeah, you can.
I just modulated all 8 knobs with slow random LFO in REAPER.

Trippy flowing voices !

The Waldorf Pulse 2, even though it's mono, has panning as both a control and a modulation destination. The Audiothingies Micromonsta has a pan spread algorithm and stereo effects.

Futuresonus Parva has stereo TRS on each of the 8 outputs. Stereo L/R Pan position is a mod matrix destination as well.

Perhaps, someone should define "true stereo" otherwise, anything with stereo outputs will get listed.

Haha, funny you should mention that, I was just about to remark how on several older monosynths that also have a headphone output, such as the sh-101 or the Pro-one, it's often worth it to run both the high output and the phone output as Left/Right stereo mains directly into the mixing board/DAW/whatever. Even though they are just mirrors and not true stereo images, after a little manual balancing, often I think the results are better than they have any right to be. :-)

True stereo is when every voice can be panned manually or via some stereo spread function.
Fake stereo is every voice is summed in to mono and then some chorus unit makes it stereo.

Yamaha CS15 has two analog signal paths from osc-to-out. Dual mono rather than stereo, but thought I'd mention it given the specific topic

I'd say the only TRUE stereo synth I know would be a Midibox 6582 ..

4 x voices, each with a SID chip for L and a Sid Chip for R.
= 8 SID Chips total

Vermona Perfourmer you can pan the voices/oscillators which is really nice.

GRP A2, the filter section can be configured in Direct Out (LP goes on Left Audio Out, HP goes on Right AudioOut) which sounds pretty far out.

What about the "Pan Spread" parameter on the DSI line of analog polysynths (specifically the Prophet 08, REV 2, OB 6, and P6)? Would that count?
