Good to see them reaching out to slightly more obscure artist like legowelt.

Here's synthmania's comprehensive demos if anyone wants to hear the D-50 library.

D-50

And as Legowelt said it also includes these expansion cards:
PN-D50-01
PN-D50-02
PN-D50-03
PN-D50-04

I hope we see a JP-8080 Boutique at some point.
Also, Korg, it's your turn to make a mini M1.

Wow, well I suppose they will have to price it very competitively, considering you can usually get decent actual D-50s for less than $500 around here...

Boutique has been a huge success for Roland. Interesting to see so many on GS still resisting. You will be assimilated.

Plus the D550 didn't have a joystick at all.

ah , but it doesnt have a pointless built in speaker!!
and its big.

i'm fine with boutique size and general functions (usb audio/midi etc).
i have sh01a on order , i have ju-06 and A-01 , i'd like a few others but theyre not essential buys.

i mostly remember the d50 from 808 state , pacific state...

To each his own. I tried my first boutique recently, the SE-02...didn't work out for me personally but I suppose I can see the attraction, especially from a collectors standpoint, fun to have all those cute little boxes arranged together just so.

True, but the real D50 does have problems with MIDI lag. Mine were reduced to pad duties because of that. Be nice to have something that has a fast response time.

I wonder if this is going to be more or less painful to edit than the D110? I'm glad to see it's not 4 note poly!

Hmm, well I guess I am fortunate in that I've not experienced that with the D-50 I've had for years. Do love those pads though! #37 Soundtrack was the reason I fell in love with the damn thing so many years ago.

Looking forward to seeing a review of this (and the price). The buttons make much more sense on that form factor (which is still too small though).

Glad that it's 16 voice polyphony.

Kind of interested, or perhaps I should just buy a proper instrument.

Interesting, actually. As a digital recreation of a digital synth, with what looks might be some better control features and presets, this looks like it might actually be a kind of partial improvement - and the best boutique by far, as not a pretend-analog synth.

The first boutique I'm slightly interested in.
I like my D50 but hate it's Midi response .

I wonder if it's compatible with the huuuge D50 library online?

Just listening to the comparisons in that vid. They've managed to make the reverb worse!

Personally, I'd just turn off the internal reverb and put it through my BAM

Three threads on the D-05 now. Could a mod take a break from Behringer and merge them? Ta.

Regarding the MIDI response of the D-50, I've never had problems with my D-550s response, even on 16th notes. Maybe a newer firmware? For sure I'm not selling the original for this, as cute as it seems.

Edit: just tried the 32ths, perfect timing.

Yup. Legowelt told us that it does.

It also has new PCM waves and new sounds too. Would be funny if they snuck lo-fi versions of the best Integra 7 PCM waves in there.

Awesome, thanks (I can't watch the video till later).

Is the keyboard worth getting, or is it a piece of crap?

Objectively, it's not much cop. Subjectively, it's great to have a built-in keyboard.

I have five of them now ...

May just have to try one out. I can imagine it could be useful enough for the price.

Anyway, 100% buying the synth anyway. Wanted a D-50 for a long time but the timing was never right anytime I found one in good nick. This is super cool.

Yeah, being able to have all the Roland cards ready to go plus all the online banks and fast MIDI - fantastic. This is a preorder for me.
