Wow, well I suppose they will have to price it very competitively, considering you can usually get decent actual D-50s for less than $500 around here...

ah , but it doesnt have a pointless built in speaker!!
and its big.
i'm fine with boutique size and general functions (usb audio/midi etc).
i have sh01a on order , i have ju-06 and A-01 , i'd like a few others but theyre not essential buys.
i mostly remember the d50 from 808 state , pacific state...

To each his own. I tried my first boutique recently, the SE-02...didn't work out for me personally but I suppose I can see the attraction, especially from a collectors standpoint, fun to have all those cute little boxes arranged together just so.

True, but the real D50 does have problems with MIDI lag. Mine were reduced to pad duties because of that. Be nice to have something that has a fast response time.

Hmm, well I guess I am fortunate in that I've not experienced that with the D-50 I've had for years. Do love those pads though! #37 Soundtrack was the reason I fell in love with the damn thing so many years ago.
Interesting, actually. As a digital recreation of a digital synth, with what looks might be some better control features and presets, this looks like it might actually be a kind of partial improvement - and the best boutique by far, as not a pretend-analog synth.
Regarding the MIDI response of the D-50, I've never had problems with my D-550s response, even on 16th notes. Maybe a newer firmware? For sure I'm not selling the original for this, as cute as it seems.
May just have to try one out. I can imagine it could be useful enough for the price.
Anyway, 100% buying the synth anyway. Wanted a D-50 for a long time but the timing was never right anytime I found one in good nick. This is super cool.

Yeah, being able to have all the Roland cards ready to go plus all the online banks and fast MIDI - fantastic. This is a preorder for me.
