GRP A1 synthesizer

I ordered one this morning. Looks and sounds great!
Looks like it's using Davies 1900-style knobs so I'll definitely add some color to it when it arrives.

i bet it's the same as my Trax R1 and the dark energy. It sounds similar to my Trax. Jamie also had one. But judging by the controls it's probably the same. It's a very vibey synth. Many monos came and went in the last 10 years but this always stayed. many will sniff at the single osc but it's all you need for so many patches. think i prefer the larger format of the R1 though but if space is scarce...

This is a good demo, no talking just sound. The way it should be. We want to hear the sonic of the synth not an opinion. And judging by the demo, it sounded really fat and smooth.

It's fascinating how a kind of bog-standard monosynth can still have such a 'brand'-personality or character. It really sounds like a GRP synth. That's cool.

Exactly why I ended up ordering one.
The filter sounds very unique to me.
Can't wait to patch a second (and third) oscillator into it.

Ordered one as well. I had the Dark Energy at one point, but I think the filter really sells it for me. Just sounds lovely.

Judging by the videos I really like how it sounds.

A little OT but I had the pleasure of meeting them personally.
At the time we had bought an A4 (an excellent synth btw), it had just come out and they personally came to deliver it to us, father and son.

A family business, a tradition that started from the grandfather who worked with Studer.
And we talked about the old classic consoles from Studer, which I love.

Since receiving my unit a couple of weeks ago, I'm happy to report that I love it.
I actually ended up installing it into my euro case a few days ago for easier integration.
Lovely unit.

How does installing in a eurorack work? Is there just a ribbon cable header inside?

And how much HP soes it take? Wondering if i could use the housing for something else, like fitting in one or a few eurorack effect modules

There’s very few demos of it but from what I found I like what I hear. Seems pretty organic sounding but can get a real industrial edge to it when pushed.
I’m focusing on portable gear again since I may be taking on a job out of state and living in a motel for several months.

The A1 looks to be a nice travel companion for my SE02. Especially nice that the A1 provides the VCO output allowing for good flexibility with other synths.

Then when I’m back home again I can stuff it into my modular system
