Variac on unused 1073?

I’m not sure which forum is best to ask this question, so I’ll start here.
I have a Heritage Audio ‘73 jr which has sat unused for about five years. Getting back into recording now.
Should I bring it up to normal voltage by using a variac when I turn it on for the first time? I’m used to doing so when turning on an an unused amp. Maybe that doesn’t apply to the 73? Thanks for any advice.

not necessary.
if the power supply has huge electrolytics which is doubtful, then maybe.

you could try the "Nashville" method:
plug in the power supply for 2 seconds, unplug and let sit for a 5 minutes, then apply power.

hmmm ... wonder if I should do that when looking to fire up my original Blue Stripe 1176's ?

They've been in storage for many years.

Need to figure out what to do with them. No plan to go back to hardware use.

Sell? Refurb then Sell ?

The longer you hold those… the more they’ll be worth…
