Is there a way to test db25 cables?
I have a focusrite clarett 8preX and an octapre connected together via the crap adat connectors. I’ve used the octapre for the front mic input and when recording drums.
What I’ve never tried until today was the db25 1-8 outputs on the octapre. The clarett has individual 1/4 outs.
I can’t seem to get a signal out of the octapre. Nothing comes out of the 8 outputs.
I’ve tried to send a signal to a hardware device, choosing 3-10 via the focusrite control app, and it works as expected. 11-12 are for the spdif ins/outs . So you start on 13 in the app to get the next device outputs. No signal.
I’ve had this in one place for years and it’s a hobby home studio, so it’s as new. I ordered a cheapo cable $80 from Amazon for the outputs. Is it possible to test these db25/ any way? I don’t have another device that uses them. I can’t tell if the device is not working or the cable is bad.
It’s complex to me, but I also may be missing something . Suggestions ? Thanks
