Hi everyone,
I want to build a skyline let say 2 m x 1m with 4 x 4 cm wood beams..it's possible use these measures or I have to build it with some fundamentals rules ??
Any suggestions?
By the way, 'Skyline' is an RPG Product. Copyrights and Trademarks apply.
I prefer to use the term Two-Dimensional Diffuser and there are many different possible configurations, all with their own response characteristics. Quadratic Residue, Primitive Root, MLS, etc.

A wood beam of size 4x4cm will have an upper cutoff of ~4200hz according to the calculator. I think for cymbals you would want something with better HF performance? If you raise your lower cutoff frequency, you will less diffuse the rest of the kit, maybe it will focus more on cymbals, but it depends on placement in the room and micing.
If you need any help with the prime numbers, just ask

Ah ok I
Understand!
I will try with a 4200khz cut off ,
How can I configure the program?
The total length of wood involved is an important point. You will need more wood than the calculator states. Add up all the cuts you need to make and multiply by your saw blade kerf. This is the amount of waste wood for cutting alone. There is also the length of the beams to consider, because you will have small end lengths which you cant use because you already have plenty of them.

As I'm settting up my new studio, I'd like to build my own diffusers.
What is the minimum and the maximum frequency that those calculators ask me for? Has this something to do with the room dimensions?
Also, where is the best placement for diffusers? Is it the back wall? And if so, should there be only diffusers or absorbers too?

Might I suggest that before you start to build diffusers (or any panels for that matter), that you first read up a little bit on studio design and how you use different treatments option in the best possible way. Once you feel that you have some basic understanding on the topic, itΒ΄s time to start taking some measurements in order to know whatΒ΄s needed.

Hi all - Im looking to build a one piece diffuser. Ive looked a lot into diffusers and i want a skyline diffuser. The calculations and ect are so confusing for me and don't understand the calculations at all.
I want my diffuser to be 110cm X 65cm and to cover the 750hz - 4/5khz range or near.
Could you please help me with a diffuser grid for this please as I have no idea on it
In australia the blocks seem to be 3cm x 3cm or 4cm x 4cm.
Would one be better than the pther?
i used the calculator but can't seem to find where it a states the width and height the blocks or "wells"

Which calculator did you use - a few have been mentioned on this page?
