I'm beginning the planning of my new studio space and one thing I'd like to have is a desk for my Toft ATB32 console...there are a couple on the market currently but I can't really justify spending 4k on a desk that I can put in some work on and build myself. I've constructed desks in the past so it isn't anything foreign to me but has anyone built a custom desk and would be willing to share their design plans? I'm a fan of this design: Toft ATB32 Studio Desks - Sound Construction & Supply
A desk like that shouldn't be too hard to build, though not everyone can do pro-quality finish work. The one thing I would warn you about: make sure you account for where the speakers are relative to your listening position, and make sure the desk does not aim speaker reflections toward your ears. The best way to avoid this is to use speakers on stands behind your desk. Or you can angle the desktop to aim reflections behind you.
