listen button in track list

in the mixer I got the buttons Mute, Solo and Listen.
In the Project window there's only Mute and Listen.
The track control settings don't offer Listen.

I don't get it. It makes no sense not to have access to this function in the project window. So I'm sure, there is a simple way to do this.

Otherwise it's just bullshit..

what's your question ??? i don't get it … are you asking where the Solo button is in the ProJEct Window ??

or maybe you are just having a good healthy rant …

Sorry,
I wanted to ask, where is the listen button in the project window?, because in my track list I can only find mute and solo. That's what I meant, I was writing it wrong. Sorry for the confusion.
I know I can use the Listen button in the Inspector channel strip tab. But I want quick and easy access without having to select the track, open the channel strip tab and the click on the listen button.

Copy that. No worries. But you still have no system info as mentioned in one of your other threads, what are you using ? Cubase, nuendo, cubasis, ver 3,4,5,6,7 ? Do you have a manual btw ?

I just found an article (on iphone at work not sure how to attach) on the avid DUC relating to the Avid Artist series control surfaces that says the Listen Button is in Key Commands list. I know you do not have this device but Maybe you can assign it to a key command on your standard computer keyboard so then whatever track is highlighted / selected the key would work that Listen Button. I am not near Nuendo or i would try it.

I was hoping someone else would chime in here for you.

that might be a workaround.
Just turned the engines off, so I gotta try it later.
Still don't understand why they don't offer it as a knob for the track list..

Pretty sure the listen key command won't work unless the Mixconsole has focus.

stella !!!! had to sorry … are you saying that unless the Mixer (mix console) is "On Top" listen will not function from a key command ? i am yet to try it here as a test … thx john

Yes....MC has to be on top on single screen and if using dual screen must be in focus (you must have clicked on it )

Yes, that's ****ing true...
The key comand works only in MC.
The only way to listen in the project window is Inspector/channel strip, I guess.

I suppose the simple forgot to put it in the track list.....

This is by design, the listen function has never been on the project page (track list).
It is a feature of the MixConsole only.
Yes, we are also aware that the key commands only work for the mixer when it is in focus, and we have it on our to do list.
Although at this time I cannot confirm or give an ETA of when it is going to be implemented, the thread bellow on our forums is related to that issue:
