Cubase 7 cuts off the start of an audio file when i drag it into project?

This has only started happening recently, when i drag in an audio file to a project sometimes cubase will chop off the start of the audio, and i will have to drag it out to the left to restore the beginning

I have no idea why, does anyone have any advice?

What type of audio file? Does the sample rate/bit depth match that of the project?

Have you tried trashing your prefs?

a wav file, and the sample rate and bit depth match the project

But TBH, before doing that, I'd try various combinations of the same clip into a different project, different clip into the same project, etc.

Try and resize the file.. see if you can make it longer at the start. Sometimes it seems to try to align markers in the file and the project and puts the audio "off beat" in the project.

Make sure that when you drag the file into the project you are dragging it to zero. You can now drag files to a negative value, which would mean when you start from zero you are chopping the front.
