I was wondering if anybody has had experience with the Chauvet DJ Q12 bluetooth Par LED lights. I have several and I often experience a whirring noise coming from the lights when I turn them on (almost sounds like a moving part - fan maybe). The noise will tend to settle down after anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute. I've been tempted to pull them apart but thought I would ask this group first. Thanks for any assistance
Answering my own thread here. Two (2) of my Chauvet Q12BT lights were making noise. unscrewed the face (about 5 screws) and was able to look inside. The only moving part was a little fan (like what we see on PC's). I sprayed a little WD40/RP7 type lubricant into the fan and Viola problem fixed.
Took about 5 minutes to do both. Interested to see if anyone has any comments or further thoughts regarding any possible problems spraying WD40/RP7 into the fan unit. From what I could tell its a faint cheap looking component that is replaceable.
