I just tried a pair of NDH30s. I was able to adjust mixes in 2h that took me days with my HD600s.
For example, when mixing in a kick drum that had a lot of attack, increasing 3dB on 3kHz shouted "NO" on the NDH30s while the HD600s said "Maybe not, but maybe yes?".
Similarly, hearing the low extension on the kick drum allowed me to notice I needed to gate it, as the 'boom' was too long for this track and tempo. On the HD600s it was there, but I wasn't capable of identifying it easily, I had to 'see' it first on the NDH30s to notice it on the HD600s.
Only the highs were a bit dull imo. Even when compared to the HD600s which I already thought they were on the dull side.
IMO if you're going to invest $300 for a good pair of headphones for mixing, add a bit more to get to the NDH30s. You'll get results faster, easier, with less frustration and will make things more fun.
