As mentioned in my post - it's an SRV-2000 that has that capability, and the buttons that do it are on the left hand side of the unit.





If the SRV-330 does it as well, I don't know that button combination.

My screen doesn´t turns on, I need to get it to service, and maybe the battery might also be dead. I never changed it and bought it used in 1998.

I even bought the Sde-330 I was so into it, but no it wasn’t worth it! It’s a long time ago but I remember thinking that you’d need to really be into the detail to use the extra parameters. I sold the sde and just turned on the srv for the first time in a couple of years to see if I can squeeze some magic from it. Such good reverb in the box now it’s hard to justify using it much.

The SDX330 is the bomb.
Very hard to come by and much more expensive than the delay and reverb units.
Contains all those Dimension D algorhithms and other classic vintage stuff.
A must-have, in my opinion.

Not suitable for the delay on your main sequence, ok for delay on extra sounds.

These are usually difficult to find, and it's not uncommon to sell for twice as much.

Looks like he did but it seems to have been much more than a "secret key combination" - just in case anyone drops into this thread still thinking/hoping a key-combo is all that's needed!

Here's what he writes:

"SRV & SDE share common PCB, with one extra DSP on SRV. Switch mod pages RAM/ROM banks, and toggles second DSP bypass circuit.
SDX has some hardware changes, and a couple of extra control lines to the analogue side (dry cut and mute). Modified SDX OS can run on SDE/SRV hardware. Shown here replacing SRV mode.
3-way switch would be much more work - 2 banks is maximum possible with existing ROM/RAM footprints."

"It's a software hack. SDE and SRV share a PCB design, with space for two DSPs, but SDE only has one populated, and links to bypass the 2nd.
SDX is a simplified version of the board, with only one DSP. Some of the CPU ports that connect to front panel switches and audio control lines were re-assigned, presumably to make PCB routing easier. The hack involved disassembling the OS, finding all the accesses to IO ports, and re-assigning them to the pins used by the SDE/SRV hardware.
There are a couple of extra transistors needed to complete the conversion - SDX has a dry cut option for some of the effects, but it's not essential.
SDE can be turned into SDX just by a ROM swap."

That's not quite how I read it.

According to the text, it appears that the SRV330 has an extra DSP, but the SDE330 (and possibly also SDX330) don't. If I am interpreting this snippet correctly:

"... SDE and SRV share a PCB design, with space for two DSPs, but SDE only has one populated..."

...the components are not included in the SDE to allow the mod to work. And the dual DSP board used for this mod isn't part of the design of the SDX at all.

That suggests that while an SRV330 can be modded to boot as an SDE330 or SDX330, an SDE330 can't and (probably) neither can an SDX330. That conclusion seems in line with the fact that it's a modded SRV330 that's shown in the linked vid.

Potentially good news for owners of an SRV330 (although, regrettably, too late for SRV himself). But I suspect SDE and SDX owners are still SOL.

I found the the instructions for the further mode are a little misleading.

here's my tested version:

1) hold PROGRAM and SYSTEM and power the unit.

> display top row shows "= Preset load =" (flashing)

2) hold SYSTEM and press:

a) PROGRAM, FUNC1, FUNC2 at the same time for further mode
> display bottom row shows "ALL"

b) FUNC1, FUNC2, FUNC3 at the same time for normal mode
> display bottom row shows "SYSTEM + PROGRAM"

3) press MEMORY

Once you're at the "= Preset Load =" screen you can relax and alternate between the two modes. No need to power cycle or hold buttons whatsoever.

What modes did it provide access to?

Having completed the sequences you describe, how do you then switch between (or select) the alternate modes?
