Hi,

I had subscribed to a thread called "Soundcraft signature series DNA mixers", here in the so much gear, so little time forum. Couple of days ago I noticed that it no longer showed up in my subscribed threads list. It comes up on google search but after clicking, it says that thread does not exist?

I have sent messages to moderators, but have not received an answer yet.

Anyone here have any idea what might have happened? Or why it would be deleted?

I don't think it takes much to realise why the thread was removed.
Obviously Soundcraft see it as incendiary to their image.

By the way, I see that Thomann have the Signature 22MTK available on 29th January 2016.

Yeah, I was thinking along those lines, but did not want to believe in such censorship...

If this is true, it's very sad and definitely not the way to deal with the issue.

I have actually ordered it from thomann(pay on delivery), but don't really trust their dates, because it keeps changing.

The thread went to the same place as the Signature mixers ... which is nowhere to be found.

well i saw the signature 16 temporary available at thomann & music store professional in germany, so it seems there is still hope for the mtks...

Yeah, thomann gives 15.12.2015 as the date for the non mtk versions, so I'm still hoping. But at this point I would not be surprised If it never comes out. I'd be very disappointed though....

Any alternatives you guys might have considered? I'd love a midas venice f24, but its just too big for my workspace.

the signature 16 has been "in the green" for a few days (at thomann & musicstore) so they must have sold a few allready..

That's good to hear haikodelic. For me their page says 15.12., but that might have something to do with the fact that I'm browsing the finnish version of thomann website.

it's the same for me, my guess is they had a few, sold them and now have new comming in. that would fit the information soundcraft-reps are giving on the facebook page...the non mtks in production and shipped out as they come, the mtks still in pre-production because of a problem that had to be sorted out...hope they can hold that 29. jan date. there is really nothing else one could buy in that pricerange, mackie onyx maybe, but i'm to afraid of old firewire driver-problems with win10 :/

signature 16 looks very different now too. color of knobs (gain knobs are also bigger than freq knobs) + faders are light grey now. at least some new updated pics!

I was looking for that thread the other day too, thought my search skills were broken. I was also hoping somebody would actually have one of the MTK units, but I see we're all still waiting.

I noticed the missing Signature series thread and emailed the Gearslutz forum admin. I got no reply.

I had assumed there was a server error of some kind and would have never suspected that the thread was intentionally taken down at the manufacturer's request. I didn't realize that companies (advertisers) had that degree of control over this public, third-party forum. That's very disheartening. I'm inclined to Wayback Machine the thread and paste the whole thing into here, just out of spite. Here's the thread, if anyone wants to see it:

I'll probably get banned for posting it. Else Soundcraft is going to contact Sweetwater and have them cancel my preorder, and then zap me with one of those Men in Black memory erasers. I'll wake up wondering where I misplaced my Tascam Portastudio 424 ...

I am utterly amazed by this! What exactly was said in that thread to cause this? There was good info in that thread, why not delete any "offending" posts, or at least tell us what people did wrong. Behringer had a long delay on their controller and it seemed to be a similar thread to the Soundcraft thread, I believe it is still around. Uli even came on and posted in that thread.

I don't get it

In truth, of the 600+ posts in that old thread, perhaps half a dozen contained any real information. Even those are now suspect, as most were posted before any of the significant production issues were encountered. Who know if they're even still valid.

The vast majority of the other posts were mostly speculation on the cause of the production issues, griping about the constantly-slipping release date and general ill-will toward Soundcraft for the horrific way in they have bungled the communication to their (potential) customers. Negative vibes in that thread were an order of magnitude greater than positive vibes, at least after June.

Nevertheless, here I wait, frustrated and jaded, a spineless, wandering sheep with no viable alternative that excites me within my price range. So here I'll remain, I guess, hoping that someday fortune will smile upon me.

It's still no reason to completely delete a thread, is it?

Agreed, it absolutely is NOT. It's appalling. It's one thing to way over-promise and then under-deliver. It's another thing entirely to try to sweep the whole thing under the rug as though it never happened. Unforeseen and unfortunate things happen sometimes, I get it -- I really do. But when they go bad on your watch, you've got to OWN it. But instead of having the stones to own it, Soundcraft is running from it. Weak to the extreme.

I ordered and paid for a 22MTK in August. I'm not really bothered about the wait. I'll probably give it until March/April before I move the money to something else. As some suggested on the other thread, the attention the MTK range got might have encouraged other manufacturers to make something competitive.

Free world mean that everybody can open a thread and everybody can delete a thread. So, someone took advantage of this rule and deleted the thread.

But that is precisely the point; it wasn't EVERYBODY that deleted the thread, it was SOMEBODY that deleted the thread.
EVERYBODY on the the old thread did not have a say in the matter.
It's just another very tiny example of people's freedoms being eroded away, day by day.

The "free world" is a myth.
Freedom of one person ends where it begins the freedom of another person.
If we will fanatically fight for the "free world", we generally will destroy the whole world.
We'll never be able to realize the freedom of everyone, if we really want to keep the whole world.
That's enough philosophy.

I find it hard to believe GS caved to an advertisers pressure to delete a thread. Just the fact that Soundcraft/Harmon even ASKED to have it gone is another reason NOT to buy anything from these corporate a$$hats.

It seems the Signature 16 is available from European distributors - 2 in stock at Juno Soundcraft Signature 16 Analog Mixer With Onboard Effects at Juno Records

Surely someone will get their hands on one soon. I just want to get a general review.

Unfortunately this is a moving target. Thomann currently state 29.01.2015. However this date changes regularly. No-one really knows for sure. Not even Soundcraft probably.

Yes, first reviews from real users will be very helpful.
Actually, i don't want to order MTK22 before someone real user will test it.
Preamp, headroom, noise level, THD, EQ, work with DAW are very important things for me.
Hope, Soundcraft team will read this thread and understand that many people are waiting real reviews about MTK.

Gearslutz, as far as I can see, is an independent forum.
Someone didn't like the thread and asked for it to be removed, simple as that.
