I'm sixty some odd years in residency on this orb.

I used to play a lot, been in a band or two, have done home recording, and various other things.

I pretty much quit playing around 2015. I think I just lost interest as I wasn't around players much anymore after closing my restaurant that had occasional live music.

I've since decided that I can't stand looking at my guitars sitting there staring at me not getting any love, so I decided to dust them off about a year ago and do some playing again.

I immediately came to the conclusion that someone had snuck in in the middle of the night, cut my nimble fingers and hands off, and replaced them with some other person's hands who may have been suffering from palsy or ******ation, or both.

These can't be my hands. They just don't work like they used to.

You know the answer - PRACTICE!

My lead player and I usually put in at least an hour a day playing together; he spends a lot of time playing by himself, either on 6 string or on pedal steel, which he is just learning. He's about 65, I'm 73. W4e both got pretty rusty after Covid destroyed our band. but regular practice helps.

do you mean something that will hold your guitar like Steve Howe for example used to use when playing live and needing to switch between guitars quickly ???
