While I have read many gearslutz reviews and forum posts I have never signed up until now. I thought seeming the community here is very into Slate Digital products and Steven often frequents here I would post a review.

First off: I love Slate's everything bundle, so many great plugins especially in VMR. When it comes to reverbs I am very picky and have tried a hell of a lot of reverbs including everything from Waves and usually am kind of disappointed. Up until this point I have been using Valhalla Vintage Verb and a couple of static convolution impulses for more natral sounds.
When I signed up for the Everything Bundle I was excited to try Verbsuite and have been thouroughly impressed. It has a great set of sounds and the Bricasti M7 sounds are amazing (nicer then the static Samplecity impulses I had been trying).
The 224 and 224XL expansion sets are no exception.

The video review:
I decided the best way to review the expansion is to try it on a track with a somewhat 80s/90s rock vibe as well as a couple of different tracks. While it is a terribly long video that is mainly because I go through nearly every sound in the expansion with various sources. In the video I do sound a bit harsh saying the plates were a bit grainy. This is more of a reference to the fact that the plates in the FG-BM7 and FG-250 are awesome and I love them on sources and also I love the Lexicon PCM90 plates. Many people have stated the 224 is the "BEST REVERB EVER" so my response was a bit negative to these statements. That said the halls sounded great especially on drums, and the rooms werent too bad either. Watch the video if you have time, I have timestamps so you can go to various instruments. I have quite obviously overdone the reverb in some section but it gives a clear idea of the dfifferent sounds.

Overall Opinion: Overall I think if you have the everything bundle it is great because its free and has useful sounds. If you need to pay for it outright in that price range there are other reverbs like the VintageVerb, ValhallaRoom and Valhalla Plate which are algorithmic and therefore a lot more versatile and have heaps of sounds although none of them sound exactly like a Lexicon 224.
