This YT clip just appeared in my browser this morning. It's from a 2009 remaster to DVD of a 1963 Pete Seeger live concert in Melbourne, Australia. I had no idea this 105 minute concert had been recorded let alone survived. Just ordered a DVD copy, hoping the DVD doesnt have the sync issue this upload has!

I have an interest in this not just as an historical record but because the first concert of overseas artists I ever saw was as a teenager in 1970 of Peter, Paul and Mary performing in our city of Perth just before they disbanded as a group. They sang and popularised Seeger songs in their set lists and on their recordings. This was part of the broader folk revival in the US and beyond in the late 50's and early 60's in which Pete Seeger was very involved. I'm not sure if Pete Seeger ever came to Perth but hope to find out.
I've also been a part time working muso in my adult life, playing mostly in folk bands. Folk music has been a big part of my life. Plus playing a lot of live amplified gigs in various venues, near and far presents you with inevitable audio issues to try and solve.
Forum members might be interested that in the YT clip some shots show the microphone setup onstage which from our discussion above may have included Pete's own mics. Note the two other mics, each attached lower down the two stands. Perhaps they were placed there by the Australian Broadcasting Commision, our Australian national broadcasters who apparently recorded this on location. ABC are similar I guess to PBS in the US. It seems that a surviving 16mm kinescope copy of the 2" videotape, plus what sounds like a magnetic recording of it, are the source elements.
Anyway very glad to have belatedly come across this 1963 Pete Seeger concert performed and recorded in my country of Australia and sharing it here.
