Vocalign: how good is it? - Page 3

Vocalign is a great tool. I find it works best if you do short passages rather than trying to do a whole track all at once...but very fast. A great time saver.

You can move timing of notes with Melodyne:

Let's say you have three vocal tracks out of alignment, import them into Melodyne overlay them and sort the timing out..

Simple!

Or you can just set Melodyne to quantize, but it's a mixed bag with that.

That takes alot longer to do than vocalign. You never want to quantize vocals either.

A) No it doesn't if your used to it.
B) I said it was a mixed bag, sometimes it destroy's sometimes it doesn't.

Takes me around 10 minutes to do a whole song, you try that with vocalign.

Unless you have harmonies all the way through, then it may take longer.. I know what I'm doing with it and it's quicker for me.

You should have said quicker for you heh

I tried that melodyne way before and it is not faster. Neither is the elastic audio way in Pro Tools.

I have both Melodyne and Vocalign...for simple alignment Vocalign is much faster...it's not even close.
