it has been discussed here a couple of times, but as the newest post is almost 5 years old, I did not want to retrieve such an "ancient" thread.

Question: what software is nowadays used for studio management, which is:
- room management
- people management
- talents/contacts management
- booking/scheduling
- billing/invoices
- other needed tasks

We have tested FarmersWIFE, but my producers didn't feel comfortable with this software.

Any there any other options?

What are your experiences with such solutions?

Appreciate any opinion.

We use Studio Suite. FMP based. Pretty solid and customizable.

Thought i would resurrect this thread in the hope there has been some movement in the last few years.
Looked at Farmers Wife but it is sooooo expensive.

Any new leads out there?

Here we also use Studio Suite. Not without issues but the package is complete and fairly customizable. The guys at Altermedia are keen to help but due to the time-difference EU/US this is not always practical.

Also all notations are US based (eg 1,000.00 in stead of the 1.000,00 we use, same goes for dates with month before day etc.) Most of them can be changed by yourself but it takes some time to handle them all. A lot of them should be done by tech support as to complicated...

It took me MONTHS to get SS to a stage where we can use it for our purposes without stumbling upon irrelevant items.
It's just too packed with options and rates, which would be great out of the box for a major Hollywood studio, but for a modest operation with just 4 rooms the default setup is a bit of an overkill.

We started out with Studio Suite 4 (a long time ago), and are now using Farmers Wife. FW is expensive but very reliable.

Finally we decided to write our own software, which covers most of our needs.
Works well so far...

We are searching for a good solution for our Post Production House, Farmer's Wife looks terrific, but is a little bit pricey and quite complex and it may be a bit overkill for the size of our company.
I would be very thankful about suggestions and experiences feedbacks about FM or other software...

Yeah, there is a gap in the market in between Google Calendar and Farmer's Wife / Studio Suite.

We have SS, bought it when it was available as perpetual license. Froze the server and client systems to avoid upgrades (customising the software was costly and very time consuming). But seven years on, office computers are stuck on El Capitan OS which is becoming a slight issue.

It's well suited for what we do but I am also looking for something else, something that can integrate with our accounts a bit better.

I remember spending AGES customising Studio Suite at the time, the more so as they didn't have a French version of the thing, and we needed at least some info to be in French (like invoices and line items).
It just took so much time.

We are currently looking into this at well as we're not too happy with our current solution, and for me Cirkus looks interesting for smaller facilities, and for bigger ones together with Farmer's Wife. According to their market material (yes, I know..) it seems to play along fine. It's from the same company.:
