Hey, everybody. I'm trying to figure out how to emulate this particular sound for youtube commentary videos. Here are two examples.
I have a Shure SM7B, a Wave XLR, Apollo Twin, and a Neve 1073. I EQ and Compress with the Fabfilter Q2 and the Fabfilter C2 with the Wave XLR currently. I'm trying to crack this professional sound. Really would appreciate some tips. Thank you!!

This is massively compressed in at least two different levels and then limited. It's not really all that great a voiceover artist either. You can do this.
The thumping on breathing is a clear mark of abusive compression.

In a bit of a general order-
-No. No reverb.
-But also no room residual ambience sounds to speak of, and the same in the way of room frequency imbalances.
-They do however have a good amount of compression on them -Let's make that 'typical, certainly not extreme.
-Which sort of leads us back, to having (needing) our room acoustics in good order.
Shoot, ok.. 'massively compressed in at least two different levels.. and limited.
I know when I just got me', 'handed to me..
