I run Samplitude X with a RME UFX. Until now all my work was in the box. I now want to add an analogue console to my workflow.

When I want to assign an hardware output on a channel in the Samplitude mixer, I have the choice with 1+2, 3+4....29+30, but I can't find an option to assign just one harware output. I wish I could have, for example, channel one with an option of hardware output in mono, it means not anymore 1+2,3+4 but 1,2,3,etc.

Is it possible and could you help me to find the right menu to do this?

set the mixer/daw channel(s) to mono... right-click on the channel-tab, where you apply its name, change the colour etc.
on top you can set the channel to audio/aux/submix/midi etc. see bottom right... choose mono or stereo. if you apply it there, sam/seq automatically changes routing and recording options to mono channels.

What you propose changes the hardware input from stereo to mono, but I would like to change the hardware output.
Even if the hardware input is set to mono, the hardware output option is still with pair (1+2, 3+4 etc.).

ah, ok... hmm... don't know a proper fix right know, but you can do it by clicking on the pan knob, set "mode" to 2 channel volume... so you can mute either L or R on an output pair.

Yes, but it's a nonsense to get a stereo output on a mono channel in the Samplitude mixer.
On a real mixing console you don't get a stereo direct output from a mono channel...

maybe check if your rme can be set up with mono channels in stead of stereopairs... looks like sam/seq 'see' what they get from there.

In the RME Totalmix software, it's possible to manage the inputs, outputs etc. in mono or stereo.
Difficult to say if it's a limitation of the asio driver between the UFX and Samplitude.
But:
In Samplitude you can manage the inputs in mono or stereo with the RME UFX without any problem.
My feeling is that the mono hardware output option is something that Magix didn't wrote in the soft...

it is possible, to set a Mono Bus to "print" the mono-wav-file via routing while Rendering.

Otherwise you can set a 5.1 template, create a hardwarerouting separate and send the right bus to the right output, to get what you want.

Whats the case, why do you want mono-outputs? Too less channels and want to put out monitoring? That you can deliver via AUX-bus-setting and panning hard left and rigt.

I want to leave the box for the mix and add a mixing board.

Of course, panning hard left and hard right is an option, but it is not as easy as a mono hardware output option.

I produce classical music. Most of time I have room mics (output 1&2 in stereo is ok), then a Decca Tree for symphonic productions.
I need 3 tracks so it is, as an example, 3&4 and 5&6.

Mono outputs allow a 3&4&5 configuration wich is more clear. One track, one output, same as a real mixing console.

Another problem...

If you create a new project with the (2) Multi Mono IO, it means multi mono in and out...

The result gives a mono input but a stereo output hard panned! There is definitly something wrong!

Samplitude manages the mono outputs when you work with a 5.1 mixer... no real mono output per channel is really a bad programming thing.

I sent a mail last week to the support and I'm waiting for an answer... I also opened a thread in the Magix forum, in case...

I don't use/need those preset-projects... do you mean one channel completely L and the other completely R on the stereo output? Would make sense to me, nothing wrong with that.

well, I talked to the support for a 96-channel-recording preparation: I was wondering, that even if you mark all channels in the mixer/arranger you can't switch all inputs to mono. But there is another way just by automatic increment all inputs - while preparation it didn`t work, because I don't own the Dante card.

The hard pan L and hard pan R is the normal way to achieve dual mono output to hardware. Otherwise, you are sending some degree of stereo, by definition.
So, Samplitude is handling this correctly.

There is no problem outputting 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, whatever mono channels if your hardware can receive it.

It's ridiculous that you can record from just one input, but you can't output to a single out, without messing around with pan or other silly stuff.

I'm using Samplitude as a tape deck, mixing through an analog console, no FX or EQ or anything else in the computer, just record and play back.

So i want to (for example) record D.I. bass on input 7, record it, and play back on output 7.

Same question, i would use some of my multitracks for virtual sound check via Dante, and also in immersive sound processor via L-acoustics L-isa Studio Controller...

Although Samplitude doesn't offer mono outs as an option of audio interface setup, there is a simple way to achieve it.
Create bus 1 and bus 2 both with the same output to stereo outs 1&2. Pan bus 1 hard left and bus 2 hard right.
Any track sent to bus 1 will go out ch 1 out mono output. Any track sends to bus 2 will go out ch 2. Repeat this process for bus3 and bus 4 with their outputs both to out 3&4. Again hard panning 3 left and 4 right. You now have 4 busses with mono outs. Repeat for all physical outs on your interface.
Any track send to any bus will then go out as mono.
