Our work horse EQ1A eq and IR1A convolver, are both now available in 32 and 64 bit AAX and VST3 formats.
I've also decided to make EQ1A the first freebie plugin from Mellowmuse, so go grab it.
More cool offers in the New Year, and AAX versions of EQ3V and LM1V.
Great news. Glad to see Mellowmuse back in the game!
Some feedback: I like the sound but the ranges on this EQ are too big. 20 dbs for those gain knobs is overkill. The HPF is also hard to set because of the same range problem.
Thanks Gary for your reply, that was the problem (2.5), 2.6 works well.
After waiting a while, I have my EQ1A back home.
Now I can't install IR1a, downloaded several times, trying to install I get a message saying that the package is damaged, any idea about that.

Hi Gary, just to report that I got to run the installer, mounting the Disk Image with Roxio Toast but no impulses in the package, in my comp are the earlier versions, but the plugin (AX, VST) does not load IR's. Maybe it's a problem with my Mac, but I would like to look at this problem. Thanks again for updates.

Diogo, did you like the plus10db EQ? It had 20 db of gain per band too, but somehow it worked out well. Just curious of your thoughts on that design vs this one.

PS. Excuse my English. I'm still learning.
Hi FFH,
Please download IR1A 3.7 again, I've swap download servers, dmgs were
proving to be a problem for some users.
I haven't downloaded this yet, but I sure will. While I don't think its necessary for a plugin company to give out at least one freebie, I do think it's extremely beneficial for companies to do so. It helps get their name out even more so than it already is. Thank you very much for the free EQ, I'll show my friends who produce and let them in on it as well.

Agreed. Tried this on an acoustic jazz track and liked the results though it took me a little while experimenting to get used to it partly because of the 20 +/- dbs range. A short move of the gain setting has a fairly significant effect. Could be useful in some situations I guess.

I did, but I approached that one more as a "tone box" so the ranges were less important to me there.
Diogo, that makes sense to me. So you say it has fairly broad bells even at the highest Q values? So you probably can't use it for anything too surgical? Mostly warping the overall frequency response I assume.

Broader by today's standards of digital EQs when you can notch the hell of things.
I noticed something when I went to the analyzer to make a plot to show you the Q: if you set to -20 db on the bell bands it actually cuts all the way to -40 db! Not sure if this is by design...

Hmmmm, this is very strange. I'm downloading the plugin now, but I'm on Mac and I haven't found a good plugin analyzer equivalent to do the same testing. I'll try to confirm on my end though.
Actually, I'm really liking this plugin. Only couple of things I could suggest would be an readout of the numbers we are sweeping through.. even though you most likely chose to not include those numbers so we would use our ears... and then.. the other suggestion would be an easier way to move the outer knob in the filter section. I'm having a hard time grabbing that outer dial. Besides that, I'm having fun with this thing!
It sounds good indeed. I'm using along my trusty Metric Halo CS. The EQ1A is great to nudge the tone into the right direction and then the CS does the rest.
I see that the CP1A compressor hasn't been ported to AAX yet....maybe it's the next freebie? heh
