I think PACE now has the option of authorizing a specific machine for the license without an iLok. I could be wrong, but I think all you need is the account. I happen to like my iLok, but I respect those who don't.

Unfortunately, this option isn't available for all products.

Just bite the bullet. I was like you for a while but there're so many good plugins that require iLok. My workflow hasn't really been negatively impacted. Actually if anything, I wish Waves would be on an iLok. They have their own authorization which is annoying if you have 2 machines.

When reopening a session trigger doesn't retain, velocity and dynamic settings...

It's working fine here (Trigger2 64bit EX v1.1.2 / PT HD 11 / Win7).

Just to say that after using trigger for years, I have just tried the leackage supression thing and it is amazing...
I have made a (complicated) template in pro tools, for kick, snare, rack tom, floor tom and hi hat, where everything is sending and triggers or reduces spill where it should...
The funny part is that I don't exclusively use trigger2 to sample replace but for its amazing GATE! You can trigger the gate to open only when the desired instrument is played... For instance, it is jawdropping on the hihat track... The gate opens only when the hat is playing... It works even on a really busy snare track where the hat is playing subtlely with the foot. You have amazing control... In fact I used a hihat track for the first time in years, making it with proud in the mix without automating the hell out of it...
Of course the triggered gate works amazing on kick and toms...Once all the sends are setup is a joy to hear, the drums mixes itself, it is gonna save me hours and hours of editing and cleaning.

Im tempted to buy the Slate Trigger at 99$ but Im invested in Superior 2 smaples at this point.. Can I use those with Trigger..

You can drag midi from trigger to another track with superior on it. Super user friendly.

I have an ilok from probably 10 years ago (never needed one since) that looks like it came with pro tools LE. it says "mbox factory" on the side. can I use this to do whatever it is slate wants it to do if I get trigger 2?

am I ready to go? because I don't want to spend an additional $50 for an ilok just to use one $99 plug-in. I don't move studio to studio, I don't use/buy that many plugins. plus I would just as soon get addictive drums Fairfax for $80 out the door.

I believe Trigger 2 requires an iLok 2. If you have had yours for so long it is most certainly an iLok 1.

You're good to go Bionicmoz. Trigger 2 is compatible with iLok 1. It's the one that I'm using and it's says so in their page too.

yep, I confirmed with slate it will work. but, now I have a whole crop of other issues.

1) this ilok is from over a decade ago. I have no idea what the email or password is.
2) ilok.com is about as helpful as a bag of donkey teeth
3) all my usb ports are already full.

and im left with so many questions:

1) why are companies so opposed to helping customers and prospective customers? (ilok)
2) why would a company make things so unnecessarily difficult for customers? I understand slate wants to protect their intellectual property and their product...so does IKmultimedia, and NI, and a whole slew of other companies that DONT make me battle with ilok for hours on end. take a note from these companies maybe?
3) at what time and place would Slate like to kiss my grits?

once I read this damn manual on how to route channels on addictive i'll just buy that.

If you want to be using professional tools, you get what you pay for. If you can't justify the expense of the $150 there are other options. IMO trigger is well worth it's humble price for what it does, and am personally using in mixes almost every day in one capacity or another

In and of themselves there is $10 difference in trigger ($99) and ad2 ($89). I don't think the extra $50 you have to spend on an ilok in order to use trigger adds to it's value...or much less, it's quality.

So saying that slate is more expensive (which it isn't) and that makes it more professional, is a little weird to me.

Slate just sent me a link to update from EX to Platinum for (a great price) if done so within 24 hours. Check your emails.

Bought the upgrade.

So we're all Platinum now. Sequential paid upgrades. That's just what Slate wants. Soon they'll introduce the Rhodium+ samples and we all need to jump again.
Just kidding of course, I'm a happy Slate customer

If i could only ask for one thing for Trigger (maybe in an update or in Trigger 3...Trigg3r? XD)
it would be the ability to customize the midi output like massey DRT (for those of us that aren´t in Protools)
You already have the screen where you see the "hits" and where its replacing.
just being able to add/quit/move some of those "triggers" or "promote them" like in beat detective
and edit them velocity wise them would be the best thing ever.

Trigger is already the best drum replacement plugin...

I grabbed this a few weeks ago and was wondering if anyone has a good preset for pop music? I really enjoy the pop pre-set found on the YouTube video for the Platinum collection, but there doesn't seem to be one in the trigger presets.
Anyone make any custom pop presets?

Is there a dl for trigger 2 plat? Bought the upgrade last month but I can't enable gate. Also I've an error message when I load the platinum samples.

Ok, I am quite tempted at the moment to buy Trigger 2. Now, I am confused about one thing. I own Steven Slate Drums 4 Platinum and the David Bendeth Expansion Pack. Is there anything like an upgrade / crossgrade to Trigger 2 for SSD 4 owners? I mean, the samples that Trigger comes with are the same, aren't they? I would basically only need the engine / the plugin, not the library. What are my options? I don't get an answer from what I read on the website..

Nah you've to buy the samples twice. Once for Ssd, once for trigger. (which isn't really cool)
Also trigger is always sold with some samples. Ex or platinum same as Ssd minus the cymbals.

Is anybody here using Trigger 2 with Cubase 7.5 or 8? I've just updated from Cubase 6.5 (32 bit). With both 7.5 and 8 I a having serious problems: Trigger 2 isn't running in time. The samples triggered are always late by about 200 ms. This renders the plugin practically unusable.

I've tried both Cubase 7.5 and 8 (64 bit) and I've tried both the 32 and the 64 bit plugin versions. The 32 bit version won't even load but crashes Cubase.

I am confused as this is a completely freshly set up computer (Win7 64bit). The software and the plugins were freshly installed, not updated over previous installations.

A request at Slate tech support is still pending. Hope, they can help me. In the meantime I'd just like to get ideas from other users.

Has anyone actually printed the track with Trigger 2 and compared it to the original kick and snare tracks? I have found it to be consistently inaccurate, often detecting the transient too soon. I have tweaked the detection settings to no avail. My work around is to create a track with samples I have manually copied in (tab to transient method), and insert Trigger on that track for more samples; however, it seems like I shouldn't have to do that with Trigger 2! Has anyone gotten this to be foolproof on live drums (for sample enhancement)?

I always print my Trigger track to audio, and it's usually about 85% accurate even in its default state. Experiment with the filtering a bit, and especially the suppression feature, and that improves accuracy considerably. I usually only have to tweak three or four hits when I've got the filters and suppression dialed-in.

Drywsef, because TRIGGER aligns the bulk of the actual transient rather than the start of the transient, looking at wav forms can often fool people into thinking that it is not aligning. But if you listen, you should be able to hear that the sample and original track are actually aligning tightly. If you do not hear this tight alignment, I would hit up support for help.
